This morning Brenda was up early and shot
off down to the surgery for her appointment with the nurse for her blood tests
etc, she then made an appointment for next Tuesday with our Doctor, Natalia,
for the results/review/check up. On the way back she called into the local
sub-post office to post a birthday card, watch out it could be you! (
Manchester!)
My appointment for my results/review/check
up is early on Wednesday morning with Natalia before the start of her daily
appointments.
‘Reina’ is not with us today due to a
change of shifts for Lee, she’s back tomorrow morning for four days, as normal,
this meant that I managed a little lie in, ‘Chispa’ has been in & out all
weekend and no doubt will be calling in later.
The sun was out early and the sky has cleared
as there is a stiff ‘ Levante’ breeze blowing in from the Atlantic, it makes it
a little cooler but by lunchtime we are still forecast to reach 31 degs, the
rest of the week is looking the same, over the weekend it will be a little
cooler, 28 degs only! Watch this space.
See below a picture of the special ferry
boat on the River Mersey over the weekend, ‘ Snowdrop’ which was painted by the
noted British artist ‘ Sir Peter Blake’- he designed the Beatles album “ Sergeant
Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ back in 1967!
We had our weekly ‘ Menu’ planning meeting
this morning after a light breakfast of toast & tea, this evening we are
having ‘ Grilled English Pork Sausages ‘ with Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato ‘
with Cabbage with Acelgas ( Swiss Chard ) Garden Peas and on the side a
Yorkshire Pudding filled with a Red Wine Shallot Gravy – a sort of
deconstructed ‘ Toad in the Hole ‘! Tomorrow evening it’s going to be Cold
Smoked Ham with ‘Campo’ Fried Eggs & Chips, on Wednesday I’m going to make
a ‘ Chicken ‘ dish, Thursday will be ‘ leftovers’ day and then on Friday it
will be something ‘ Fishy’ . you have already guessed that on Saturday it will
be ‘ Steak Night’ – finally on Sunday, at long last, we are going to have the ‘
Grilled Barnsley Lamb Chops ‘ resting on ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes.
Last night after supper we watched on ‘ BBC
TV ‘ the live benefit concert from the Old
Trafford Cricket Ground – “ One Love Manchester “ – arranged by Ariana Grande,
with Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Little Mix ( under dressed!) Take
That & Robbie Williams, shame he didn’t sing with them, Black Eyed Peas (
they thought that they were in London?!) Cold Play and at the end Liam
Gallagher but no sign of his brother Noel, again a perfect time to see Oasis ?!
Not our sort of music but we were surprised that they all had very fine voices,
the show was very well staged and the sound very good, the atmosphere was
electric.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
