A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 24 th/ JUNE 2017.

We had a little lie in this morning after yet another very hot & steamy night, due to the weather! After a quick freshen up we had our usual light breakfast of fresh fruit, toast & tea, before Lee & Lucy arrived with ‘ Chico’ a ‘Bichon Frise ‘ – he’s going to be joining us here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ from next weekend, there are various dates over the next few months then coming up, he’s a lovely dog, while he was here ‘ Chispa’ called in to check him out, he passed!

We are in for another very hot & sunny day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun broke through early and the sky is bright blue, there is no breeze so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 31degs+ - on Sunday its staying very warm with the threat of some of the wet stuff, next week is settled, warm & hot, staying on the low 30s, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend will be watching the Horse Racing from ‘ Royal Ascot’ – the men’s Tennis from the Queen’s Club in London, the ‘ Azerbaijan Grand Prix ‘ from ‘Baku and later we will catch the highlights of the First Test in Auckland as the British & Irish Lions took on the might New Zealand ‘All Blacks’ – who snuffed out the ‘Lions’ hope of a shock win with a ruthless display at Eden Park winning 30-15!

The rest of the day we are staying local, keeping cool, drinking lots of cold water, with all the fans on, Brenda has just been along to the Chemists in Calle Mar for our prescription tablets, she came back with a new pink top from the ‘Ladies Fashion shop in Calle Inglaise for tonight’s celebrations!

We are going down to  ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa ’ by taxi, our first port of call we be the ‘Heavens Cocktail Bar ‘ – then we have booked a table at the ‘ Kinnaree Thai Restaurante’ on the first floor overlooking the Marina, perhaps a ‘ night-cap’ in ‘The Place ‘or one of the ‘ live’ music bars?!

See the picture below of the ' Birthday Girl' eight years ago celebrating with a nice glass of ' Rose Champagne' - in the days when we could afford it, on the balcony of a large villa , above Tarifa, that we were 'House Sitting' !!

The reports of last night’s ‘ Noche de San Juan’ down on the beach in Sabinillas are very good, it was as usual a ‘ Helluva’ night with lots of singing, dancing, eating & drinking, the ‘ Fire ‘ was spectacular and the fireworks display could be heard and seen up here in the village.
