A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 7th/ JUNE 2017.


























I was up before the sun this morning and shot down to the surgery for my appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, for the results/review/check up before she started her morning appointments, my ECG  was fine, my blood pressure is still a little low but OK, the new tablet regime is working, I have been drinking more water and have cut down the ‘ Cuba Libre ‘ – also the biscuits & chocs, now it’s more exercise on the bike in the chill-out room, after I buy a new fan on Friday morning when I’m out on my travels down in Sabinillas.

Still no ‘ Reina’ as Daneila is still unwell, ‘Chispa’ has been in this morning and stayed around for a little while, we miss having a dog around during the day.

After the sun broke through the sky cleared and it’s now warm & sunny with no breeze, it due to reach 27 degs by lunchtime, the rest of the week and over the weekend into next week is staying the same, we are in for a very hot spell shortly, watch this space.







One bit of scary breaking news this morning is that our bank ‘ Banco Popular’ has been rescued from the brink of collapse by larger rivals ‘ Santander’ for one Euro! The Bank has been struggling after billions in property investments turned sour! The ‘ Euro’ is also at its lowest this week, this is not good as our  ‘Pension’  transfer cycle is due to start on Monday, let’s hope the UK Election result is the right one and the markets react, upwards! Watch this space.







This evening for our supper I have made this morning, before coming up to the office/studio to post today’s Blog, our favourite “ Chicken & Mushroom ‘Tarragon’ Casserole “ I sweat-off in White Wine ( thanks Brenda!) finally diced Onions & Garlic, Carrots, Leeks, Celery and Red & Green Peppers, before adding the whole Baby Mushrooms ( Tinned!) a dash of Lea & Perrins & Tabasco and Tarragon Herbs, at the same time I lightly cook-off the diced Chicken Breast after tossing them in seasoned Tarragon flour, then add to the pan along with a strong Chicken & Vegetable stock adjusting the seasoning and consistency before leaving it slowly simmer under the eagle eye of the ‘ Second Chef’ The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ has prepared whole Green Beans, Potato Cakes ( from the left-over Mashed Potato) and a few twice-cooked ‘ Frits ‘





For the rest of the day we are taking things easy, we have all the fans on around the house, in the kitchen & lounge and upstairs in the office/studio, the bedroom fan is on during the night, we are down to just a light sheet on the bed, keeping cool is very important as well as drinking lots of water, positive thinking helps!

Last night after supper I found a film to watch on the ‘ Kodi’ film channel,  the action thriller “ Kidnap “ from 2017 with Halle Berry in the main role as a mother who tries to rescue her abducted son from the dangerous kidnappers, very gripping, filmed in New Orleans, you just have to watch it to the very end!





At lunchtime we went up to ' Bar OcaƱa ' for a nice cool drink and a ' Tapas ' - Brenda had the ' Boquerones ( Anchovies) in Vinegar' and I had the ' Chicken in Curry sauce'
