A VERY CLOSE & HOT SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 9th JUNE 2017.

We have had an interesting 24 hrs, yesterday afternoon, at around 2-00 pm, the main on-line supplier here in the village and the rest of Spain “ Telefonica ‘ cut off the system, we have had no Landline, Mobile, Internet or ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick’ since then! I had the Mayor, Mario, our neighbour chasing them but with no luck, today I called into the Town Hall and a friend in the ‘Culture’ Department also chased them, until around 5-00 pm this evening when it came back on!

We are back on-line, as you can see, the Internet has re-set and is working fine, so we have been able to catch up with all the news ie. The ‘General Election’ result! The Landline & Mobiles are also working fine but the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick’ needs attention to re-connect to the system, Lee is calling me when he comes home from work. He has just called on the ‘Skype’ video and talked me through the procedure to re-set the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick ‘ RESULT ‘ – thanks!!

Finally the ‘Emergency On-Line Call Button’  to the ‘Junta de Andalucia’  Heart Monitoring system, if Brenda has a heart problem, via the Landline, has re-set and they have called to check that everything is all right!

The one bit of really bad news is that the ‘ Euro has dropped after the result of the General Election so the Pension transfer due on Monday will be down on last month, we have also read that the ‘ Banco Popular’ – nearly crash’ was triggered when depositors in Spain withdrew over 18 millons Euros on Wednesday! How did they know?!

This morning I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I just about managed to get out of the square, with Brenda’s help, when I came back later we had the same problem but our neighbours helped get me back in the corner, my regular spot! No ‘ Reina’ again today but she is back with us next week for 4 days, on Tuesday she is at the vets to get her nails cut, under anesthetic, ‘Chispa’ has been in & out all the time.

I did our main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ and then popped along to the ‘Chinese Bazaar’ for some picture frames, then I collected the local English Newspapers from the ‘English’ Bookshop, I then carried on down to ‘Puerto de la Duquesa’ to pick up the lounge curtains from the Dry Cleaners, they were rather expensive, to say the least, I also left the ‘ Winter’ Duvet for cleaning. I then shot along the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers, finally on the way back up the hill I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials.

We have another glorious day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’- the sun was out early, it’s a little overcast and close but still very hot, in parts of Spain, inland, it’s reached 37/39 degs and higher, the weekend is going to be the same and then next week we are in for a very hot one, going over the 30 degs mark, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Fillet of Hake’ using local breadcrumbs from the Bakery, with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked diced ‘Frits’ – Homemade ‘ Tartar’ sauce on the side with lots of Lemon Wedges.

This evening we will catch up with all the General Election news via the BBC I Player before watching the last episode of ‘Paula’ that we missed last night, on Sunday ‘ Poldark’ returns!
