I was up early this morning to see ‘ Reina’
back with us for the day, we then went back to bed for a little lie in before
the gas bottle delivery man came calling, after our normal light breakfast of
toast & tea we got the small shopping list ready for tomorrow morning, I
shot along to the local bank in ‘Calle Mar’ for some cash from the machine.
It’s another glorious day down here on the ‘
Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue with no
clouds, there is no breeze so it’s a perfect day, warm & sunny, by
lunchtime it’s due to teach 23/24degs, the rest of the week is staying the same
but with the possibility of some clouds and a little cooler, next week it’s
more of the same, warm & sunny, watch this space.
The ‘ Semana Santa’ celebrations continue
with the procession of ‘ Jesus Nazareno - Jesus of Nazareth ‘ on Thursday
evening, it arrives late ( 12-midnight ) in Calle Mar, it’s the brotherhood that
I’m a member of, then on Friday evening at 7-00pm it’s the turn of the procession
of ‘ Del Santo Entierro Y Ntra.Sra.De Los Dolores’ – which has as well as the ‘Tronos’
the ladies of the village in their finest Black Court Dresses with a flowing veil
of Black Lace/Silk, a ‘Mantilla’ hanging from a comb ‘ a Peineta’ with their ceremonial
staffs. Watch out for all the pictures.
For this evenings supper we are having ‘
Grilled Gammon Steaks ‘ topped with seared Pineapple & ‘ Campo Fried Eggs’ –
Garden Peas and of course twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – tomorrow it’s going to be ‘Homemade
Burgers ‘ with all the trimmings; on Good Friday I’m making my famous ‘ Fish
Pie ‘ using Hake, Cod, Salmon, Prawns & Mussels topped with Brenda’s famous
Mashed Potato, Saturday will be ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Easter Sunday we are
having a ‘Roast Chicken’ from the ‘Rotisserie ‘ in Calle Mar.
Last night after supper we channel hopped
and watched the 50th series over 25 years of “ Later Live ... With
Jools Holland “ – it featured music from Kasabian, Goldfrapp, Spoon & Anderson Paak. – as usual
an eclectic mix of sounds and style.
Thoughts for the Day ; See above.
