A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON " EASTER SUNDAY "

SUNDAY 16th/ APRIL 2017.  “ EASTER SUNDAY “

We had another nice lie in this morning, the village at the moment is very quiet, for our breakfast we had ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of steaming tea to set us up for the day ahead, we are getting ourselves freshened up later before we go up to ‘Bar Castillo’ to watch the two processions as they meet in Calle Mar for the climax of the ‘ Semana Santa ‘ celebrations, we were sat on the cool side of the street, for the main celebrations, as the whole village came out, as the two ' Tronos' meet they all sing a song of welcome, let the doves out after the Crown is placed on the Virgin, then the band plays and both the ' Tronos ' are raised shoulder high to great applause, we then came back to 'Bar Rojas ' for a light Tapas lunch sat on the sunny side of the street, watch out above for all the picture later.

The sun is attempting to break through, at the moment, the clouds are starting to clear, there is a light breeze but by lunchtime it will no doubt pick up, it’s due to reach the mid 20s, next week is now looking more settled with some clouds but with sunshine, hovering in the low 20s, watch this space.

See below the ‘ Bay of Colwyn ‘ taken earlier this morning.

And the Post Card!

Just a quick update on the football results; Real Madrid won 2-3 after scoring the winning goal in the last minute, Barcelona also won 3-2 but are still behind in the ‘ La Liga ‘ title race, Everton won 3-1 and then Manchester City won, away, 0-3! Great Britain won another Gold Medal in the ‘ Track Cycling World Championships’ and Hamilton’s  ‘ Finnish’ team mate,  Valitteri Bottas, took the Pole position with Hamilton second.

This evening we are having a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the ‘Rotisserie’ in Calle Mar, we are collecting it after the procession, with it we are having a nice Mixed salad, finely sliced Green Beans and Baked Potatoes, tomorrow it’s our ‘ Easter Roast ‘ – ‘ Roast Shoulder of New Zealand, South Island, Lamb ‘ with ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes and a large selection of fresh vegetables prepared by the ‘ Vegetable Chef ‘

Last night after supper we watched, for the first time, ‘Britain’s Got Talent ‘ when Simon Cowell hit the ‘ Golden Buzzer’ on the first episode, they are only allowed to press it once per series, the young 15 year old girl singer, Sarah, had a incredible voice, she sang one of the World’s trickiest pop ballads ‘ And I Am Telling You ‘

Thoughts for the Day ; See above.
