A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 13^th/ APRIL 2017.  “ MAUNDY THURSDAY “

I was up early this morning to see ‘Reina’ back with us for the last time this week, she shot into her duvet, ' Chispa' is back out and calls in all the time to see her friends, I shot out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I was first into ‘Mercadona’ which is only open today until 3-00pm, as it’s a bank holiday here as well as tomorrow, when its’ closed; I then stopped at the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers and some stationery, I then called into ‘ Super Sol ‘ for the English essentials, no market on a Thursday and it’s closed on Friday, so no fresh flowers, I then shot back up the hill through the vine fields which are growing all the time.

It’s another very pleasant day with the sunshine braking through early, the sky is cloudless and there is just a little breeze making it a little cooler than yesterday, today & tomorrow it’s due to reach 26/28degs but cooler on Easter Sunday, next week is looking fine and settled with the temperatures hovering on the 21/23degs mark, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having homemade ‘ Beef Burgers’ from our local Butcher, with all the trimmings, Burger Baps, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Gherkin, Smoked Bacon, Gouda Cheese for Brenda & mine topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! – severed with twice-cooked, hand-cut ( by Brenda!) ‘ Stringfellows’ -  on ‘Good Friday’ I’m making my famous ‘ Fish Pie ‘ then on Saturday night we have ‘ Entrecote Steaks’ either in  ‘Diane or Au Poivre ‘ sauce and on Sunday we are picking up a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the ‘ Rotisserie ‘ in Calle Mar ‘

One of our Pensions has arrived in our Spanish Bank account, early, due to the ‘Bank Holiday’ over in the UK, it was up a little on last months as the ‘ Euro’ has picked up a little, fingers crossed for the rest of them over the next two weeks, watch this space.

After supper this evening we will channel hop for a little while and then go out watch my Brotherhoods ‘ Jesus Nazareno’  parade come along Calle Mar at midnight, watch out for the night time pictures tomorrow morning!

On‘ Good Friday ’ evening it’s the main parade at 7-00pm  when the whole village turns out in it’s finest, watch this space.

Sadly no ‘ Easter Egg ‘ for Brenda ( sorry!) as the ‘ English Bookshop ‘ had sold out yesterday!!
