A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 17th/ APRIL 2017.   “ EASTER MONDAY “

We had a little lie in this morning as we had to get this evenings supper on the go, ‘Reina’ is back with us tomorrow morning, for four days, ‘Chispa’ has been in & out over the weekend, after a quick cup of tea and toast we got things on the go.

I studded with Garlic & Rosemary the ‘ Roast Shoulder of New Zealand, South Island, Lamb ‘ –placed it on a bed of ‘ Trivets – Vegetable Ends ‘ and roasted it in a hot oven, I also at the same time added a few ‘Roast Potatoes’ to the tray.  I then leave it to rest and ‘ cold ‘ carve it this evening ( better for slicing!)

I then made my famous ‘ finger-licking’ Pan Gravy. The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ meanwhile was preparing ‘ Crushed Carrots & Turnips, Cabbage with Alcelgas, Green Beans & Garden Peas’ – she also peeled the Potatoes for me to slice into three different thickness’s- to make the ‘ Boulangere ‘ Potatoes, layered & seasoned with sliced Onions and topped with a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock, ready to go in the oven this evening.

The sun has broken through and the sky is clearing, there is a light breeze, its warm & sunny and by this afternoon it will be in the mid 20s, the rest of the week is staying the same but it could be a little cooler on Thursday & Friday, then over the weekend it’s picking up again and the forecast is for it getting a little hotter, watch this space.

Over the weekend Brenda has spoken on the phone, as they don’t have ‘ Skype’ - to her sisters, Norah & Jenny over in England to wish them ‘ Happy Easter ’ and then this morning she rang Lyn over in Melbourne, they are still have problems with their  ‘Skype’ video connection, so she had a nice long chat, gossip and update with what’s happening over in Australia to all  Jack & Lyn’s extended family.

“ Happy Easter “ to all our family & friends all over the World.

Last night after supper we settled down to watch episode 4 of the excellent and very gripping “ Line of Duty ‘ on BBC 1; we missed last week’s episode but soon discovered that the main Detective from ‘ AC-12’ was attacked, with serious injuries, the suspect Detective, played by Thandie Newton has also framed a lady, for the murder that she committed, her husband is also a suspect and mixed up in the cover-up, ‘ Balaclava Man ‘ is still on the loose, are there two?! The undercover cop has had her cover blown, the wrist injury on the corrupt cop is turning nasty.

Then in a very gripping & riveting interview/interrogation at the AC-12 headquarters ,lasting over 21 minutes on prime time TV, as Thandie Newton was asked all sorts of awkward question, at the end she left the corruption investigation in ruins, as she counter-attacked them with inside information about the workings of AC-12- how did she find out, it turned out, at the very end, that it was a reliable PC in AC-12, why has she gone rogue, was handing over the files to the slimy ACC, who is friend of the corrupt cop! Two more episodes to go, watch this space!

We then caught the late film over on BBC 2 “ At Any Price “ from 2012, with Dennis Quaid & Zac Efron, as a father & son battle each over, it’s based in the  ‘Iowa’ heartland of Mid- America’s corn belt, a unexpected crisis brings them together.

Thoughts for the Day ; See above.
