A CRISP & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 1st / APRIL  2017 !

We all had a nice lie in this morning, ‘ Reina ‘ slept in her duvet until we woke her up! She’s settled in and is no problem, she has a very good appetite, well, she is on a diet! The village is very quiet, even the church bells have not started, yet. For our breakfast we had the new ‘ Campo ‘ Eggs, Brenda’s scrambled with Crispy Bacon and mine Fried with Crispy Bacon, mugs of strong ‘ PG’ Tips and lots of buttered toast on the side.

We are in for another glorious day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun is out and the sky is clear, overnight it’s gone a lot milder, by lunchtime it will be 22degs, at the moment it’s rather ‘ crisp ‘ – on the shady side of the street, Brenda has just been along to the Chemists for our prescription tablets, on Sunday it’s the same again and then next week is now looking fine and settled with just a hint of a breeze at times, watch this space.

This evenings supper is ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare ‘ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms & deep-fried Onion Rings, whole Baby Green Beans and ‘ Pont Neuf ‘ Chips – twice-cooked ‘door step’ chips!- Accompanied with the classic ‘ Bearnaise ‘ sauce on the side. The ‘ Roast ‘ on Sunday is going to be a ‘ Shoulder of New Zealand, South Island, Lamb ‘ served with ‘ Boulangere ‘ potatoes.

Back to normal on the football front this weekend; over in the ‘ Premiere League ‘ the early kick-off is the ‘ Derby’ game as Liverpool welcome Everton, I will watch is live via ‘ First Row Sports '

On Sunday Manchester City travel down the MI to play Arsenal; over here in ‘ La Liga’ on Sunday Real Madrid are at home to Alaves and Barcelona are in Granada. The ‘ Flat’racing season starts this afternoon from Doncaster, with the ' Lincoln Handicap' at the main race, next weekend it’s the ‘ Grand National ‘ meeting from Aintree! On Sunday down on the River Thames it’s the 163^rd ‘ Boat Race ‘

Last night after supper we watched the new serial on BBC TV “ Decline and Fall “ it’s the adaptation of the comic novel by Evelyn Waugh, with a mega cast of Jack Whitehall, David Suchet, Tim Pigott-Smith, Douglas Hodge & Eva Longoria.
