A GREY, COLD & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 22nd/ APRIL 2017.

We had a nice lie in this morning before the gas bottle delivery man came calling, we left the old bottle out last night and he calls and delivers the new one, we then had our regular breakfast of  ‘Weetabix’- toast & tea, before getting the day on the go.

We have a dog-free weekend here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ – no doubt ‘ Chispa’ will come crashing in at sometime over the weekend, next week ‘Reina’ is with us for just three days, as we are out at the hospital on Wednesday morning for my ‘ Prostrate’ results ( fingers crossed) and it’s a works holiday, for Lee & Daniela, on Friday, the following week she will be with us for four days from Tuesday as it’s the ‘May Day’ Bank Holiday in Gibraltar on the Monday.

Yesterday turned out rather nasty, it rained later, with heavy thunder, not forecast, and the wind kept blowing, we had a power cut in the afternoon just as the climax of the ‘ Grand Final ‘ of ‘15 to 1’ was happening! Today it’s still cold, grey & overcast with a stiff breeze, tomorrow it’s the same, on Monday it’s picking up, for a few days, getting warm & sunny, then next weekend is not looking so good at the moment, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Surf & Turf ‘ – Grilled Fillet Steaks served with ‘Gambas a la Plancha’ & garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms, whole Green Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Pont Neuf’ doorstep Chips!

                                                                                    " MEDIUM RARE FOR US " !!

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘Premiere League’ Everton travels down the M1 to play West Ham and Crystal Palace come up the M1 to play Liverpool, it’s the two semi-finals of the ‘FA Cup’ at Wembley, today its Chelsea v Spurs, live on BBC 1, and tomorrow Arsenal v Manchester City! Over here in ‘ La Liga ‘ on Sunday its ‘El Clasico ‘ as Real Madrid welcome Barcelona!! This afternoon we will be watching the National Hunt Racing from Ayr – it’s the ‘Scottish Grand National’

Last night after supper we watched the new series of ‘ Have I Got News for You’ then we caught the ‘ Graham Norton Show’ and finally ‘ Later – with Jools Holland’ with his usual mix of electric music.

See the picture Blog above of some old pictures from 9/10 years ago as we first arrived down here in sunny Manilva, the ‘Winnebago ‘ with the ‘Smart’ Car on the trailer, waiting at Portsmouth Harbour to cross back over on the Bibao ferry, in our dear friends, Zoe & Grahams, garden in Manchester before we left, the first picture of Brenda in France and us out & about, over here with our very dear friend Jane, one of our very first visitors, I worked for her father at the ‘ Bridge Inn ‘ in Port Sunlight,( see below ) I used to take her to a private school in Colwyn Bay when she was just 13! It’s where Brenda came to work, part-time, in the ‘Cocktail Bar’ – we met, got engaged and were married in Port Sunlight Church, next to the hotel, back in 1971 – the rest is history!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
