A GREY, OVERCAST & VERY WINDY SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 21st/ APRIL 2017.

I was up first this morning and shot out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, meanwhile back at the house Brenda saw ‘Reina’ back with us for the day, I was first into ‘ Mercadona’ for our main shop, I then collected the local newspapers from the ‘ English Bookshop’ before shooting down to ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa ’ to call into the ‘English Butchers’  for Pork Chops, Gammon Steaks, Sausages & Bacon etc.

I then came back to Sabinillas to go to the local market at the far end of the promenade, it was closed due to the severe storm coming in off the Mediterranean, next it was ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials, I picked up the fresh flower & wall plants from the local market down by the sports centre, on the way home.

Overnight, as forecast, the ‘ Mediterranean ‘ storm with heavy sea and high winds hit us, this morning I was nearly blown off my feet as I walked down to the underground car park to collect the car, it’s grey & overcast with black clouds on the horizon, the wet stuff at the moment is keeping way, the next couple of days are the same before it picks up at the start of next week, it’s still nearly 15degs during the night, going up to 18/19 degs during the day, next week we are back into the mid/high 20s, watch this space.

See below the beach this morning down in Sabinillas.

See below a picture taken last night along the old dock front in Liverpool.

On the menu front for the weekend; this evening it’s going to be ‘ Posh Fish & Chips ‘ –  ‘ Grilled Baby Soles ‘ (2) garnished with fresh, local  ‘ Gambas a la Plancha’ with twice-cooked diced ‘ Frits ‘ and Garden Peas. Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce on the side.

On Saturday we are having ‘Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ with the full trimmings, then on Sunday it’s going to be ‘ Baked Pork Chops’ with glazed Apple slices and ‘ Pommes Lyonnaise

It’s definitely a  ‘stay at home’ day today, we are taking things easy. later, we will catch up with some reading then follow a couple of Quiz shows before supper, the we will channel hunt to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
