A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 23rd/SEPTEMBER 2015.

                         " COUNTDOWN TO THURSDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER STARTS HERE" !

We were up a little early this morning as the water in the village was due to go off for a few hours until after lunchtime for essential repairs; we had our regular breakfast before I shot down to the 'Bella Vista' camp site to take Tim & Thea to the local supermarket for some well needed stocking up on their food and drinks! On the way back we called into the 'Chineses Bazaar' for some bits and pieces.

They arrived early in the afternoon after driving down from a site just outside Granada, we met up with them at the site with our 'Union Jack & Welsh Dragon' flags waving! We then sat and had a good old chat and catch up with them in the very hot afternoon sunshine as they unwinded after their travels down here to the 'Costa del Sol'

In the evening we collected them from the site and we came back up to to the village and started at 'Bar Castillo' with some light Tapas before moving on to 'Bar Rojas' for a late supper of 'Chicken Fillets a la Plancha' with fried Green Peppers, fried 'Campo Eggs' and fresh Frits'

We have sorted our plans out for the next three days as they are now going back to the site in Granada on Friday evening so as they can go on a trip to see the 'Alhambra' on Saturday,' They are then carrying on down to Almeria as they are looking for a property in that area next year after Thea retires early.Then they are going across Spain on their way to catch the ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth on the 7th October!

Today they are having a relaxing day on the site, recharging their batteries after their 'epic' 3000 km journey down here to sunny Manilva, it's on the beach front and has excellent facilities, before we take them this evening to the 'KE' Bar in Sotogrande for a late supper;

Tomorrow we going across to Estepona later in the morning to show them the 'Orchid House' before we carry on to San Pedro to show them the new 'Boulevard' and stop at out favourite 'Caldaron' Tapas Bar for some of their excellent tapas.

I've arranged for 'Castle Radio FM 89.2' to play them a dedication on the breakfast show after 9-00 am to welcome them down here and at the same time for my birthday, Andrew Charles is going to play for me 'Stevie Wonders version of " HAPPY BIRTHDAY " !!

Then tomorrow evening we are picking them up and coming back to the house to start the evening with our very special bottle of " Dom Ruinart'  Vintage Rose Champagne served in our finest French flutes; we are then going down to Duquesa Marina by taxi to go to 'Restaurante Macues'  where we have arranged a rather special evening - watch this space!

On Friday lunchtime we are going up to one of our old favourite restaurants 'Venta Garcia' for a nice lunch before they head off on their travels later; we have also booked a table on Sunday afternoon at " Cocomo" to finish off the weeks celebration with their excellent 'Roast Sirloin of Beef' lunch!! Will we survive - watch this space

PS;  On the 'Old Manilva' Facebook page the picture below shows 'Calle Andrades' -in the 'Barrio' - date unknown?! On the left of the picture is the bottom of our street 'Calle San Vicente'!!
