A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 25th/ SEPTEMBER 2015.

We shot down to the 'Bella Vista' site to see Tim & Thea off on their travels as they were setting off back to the site in Granada as they had booked tickets to go to the 'Alhambra ' on Saturday; we formed a convoy with the flags flying as they headed along the coast road past Sabinillas. Here's to next time in the not too distant future when they return to Spain - thanks and much love to both of you - safe journey back. See the picture below;

They are then heading to a site outside/below Madrid before going up to Burgos to a site that we have used before going to Lograno, the capital of the 'Rioja Region' and finally down to Bilbao to catch the ferry back to Portsmouth!

We then came back to the house and sorted ourselves out to go up to 'Venta Garcia' for lunch; 'Jesus' the owner was in fine form and welcomed us back with lots of hugs and kisses, not forgetting Brenda! We had two fine glasses of chilled 'Cava Rosdo' garnished with local fresh strawberries as we chose from the three-course 'Menu Del Dia' Brenda had the Avocado,Tomato & Mozzarella Salad and I had a delicious cold/thick 'Tomato' soup garnished with Tuna & Hard Boiled Egg.

For our main course Brenda had the 'Rosado Frito' in a light Tampura Batter and I had the local Lamb 'Chueletas' with a Mustard & Mint dressing, the 'Frits' with both dishes were fresh and excellent as well as the tiny diced sauteed Courgettes. A fine bottle of Albarino' the classic White Wine from the Northern Region of Galicia helped the meal along!

For our desserts Brenda had the 'Gin & Tonic Sorbe't and I had a slice of their special 'Toffee Cake'with Vanilla Ice Cream- another Birthday Firework Candle arrived along with complementary house 'Fire Water' Another very special lunch to remember.See the pictures above.

Then in the evening we went along to 'Bar Castillo' for a late and light Tapas supper!  Yet another 'Helluva' day with two more yet to come - watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
