A SULTRY & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 8th/ SEPTEMBER 2015.

Overnight the weather has changed, we are back to normal today,its warm and sunny with just a hint of a breeze making it very pleasant' yesterday down here on the coast we were so very lucky as in the rest of Andalucia was hit by severe thunderstorms with heavy rain and hailstones the size of golf balls!

There was flooding in Saville,Cordoba,Granada,Jaen and especially in Almeria where cars,vans and lorries were washed away!! In Malaga the airport was flooded and the surrounding roads were blocked and closed with long traffic jams!! Meanwhile in sunny Manilva as the day went on it got nicer by the hour!

The forecast for the week ahead is looking settled and getting warmer,back to normal for this time of the year.By this afternoon it was 'hot' in sunny Manilva!

We managed a little lie in this morning despite the attempts by two sets of workmen,on the main site it was knocking and drilling and opposite at our neighbours house it was shouting and singing! After breakfast I shot out on my travels around the village,I first went down to the 'IT' shop for some printer inks,then back along 'Calle Mar' to the local bank to pay the water bill; finally I called into our butchers for tonight's supper " Pork Chops" - thick cut 'English' style.

All along 'Calle Mar' all the bars except 'Bar Castillo' are still closed so Juan was doing a roaring business, the Council workmen are taking down the lighting'stages and all the 'Sonbrajos' have gone! Back to normal!

When I got back to the house I had some 'International' phone calls to make; first I called our personal banking helpline at  'HSBC' as my change of 'Will' documents have still not arrived,the problem is now solved and they are in the post. Next I called the 'International Pensions'  helpline as Brenda's pension did not arrive in our Spanish bank A/C yesterday when it was due, it turns out that the 'English Pension' system banks with an American Bank and it was Bank Holiday over in the USA yesterday?!

PS' It's just arrived in our A/C and is down on last months!Sadly the 'Euro' (I blame the Chinese!)  is still down but we can't do any think about the the transfers as they come into our A/C automatically!

In 'Doggy World Heaven' this week its all change as 'Reina' is now with us on Wednesday for the day and we are waiting to hear if 'Freddie & Bentley' are back on Thursday for a sleep over; we are also waiting for a call from Samantha as to when we will see 'Charlie & Dallas' - the 'Samoyeds'?! Watch this space.

It's a rest day in the " Vuelta d'Espana15" today before tomorrow's individual 'Time Trial' around Burgos.

It's an at home day today so we are taking things easy and catching up with the chores,Brenda is is one of her 'ing' modes - washing,ironing,cleaning etc. I'm up in the office on the 'WWW' catching up with all the newspapers, E-Mails,Facebook messages, as the day goes on; the large 'PC' is still out of action so we are not able to go on the 'Skype' video for now - watch thus space!

This afternoon we will catch up with our reading during our 'Happy Hour' as we listen to the local radio.In the post at lunchtime there were some birthday cards( Australia & Claughton!) for my 70th birthday on the 24th September as well as two postcards from our dear friends and old customers Terry & Alma who live in France outside Caen - the cards are from Paimpol?! and the island of 'I'lle de Re' off La Rochelle on the West coast, which we recommended then too a little while ago! I will now need my third postcard pin board!! Thanks,yours will be in the post,keep them coming, to all our family and friends all over the World!!

So for our supper this evening we having " Baked Pork Chops" with crushed Carrots & Turnips,sliced Green Beans and my version of 'Patatas Bravas' made with diced Boiled Potatoes fried in a Red Onion,Red Pepper,sweet Pimento salsa. We are now going to have all this tomorrow evening and a light supper this evening TBC.

We will then catch up with the news,sport and weather details on 'TVE1' before finding a film to watch.

PS; Thanks for the nice comment from Ian,Paul,Jackie & Karen who met the other day in the village.As we were out for our walk at lunchtime with 'Chispa' we bumped into the folks at 'Bar Castillo' which we recommended them to the other day, we ended up staying for some Tapas ourselves as we sat and took in the sights and sounds of a very sunny Manilva,

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
