A BREEZY & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 1st/SEPTEMBER 2015.

No rest for the wicked this morning as we were up early to welcome back 'Reina' for the day.All the workmen on both sites arrived as usual early and are in full work mode, we now have banging & drilling in front of us as well as on the site,the builders are erecting the scaffolding on our side wall and will be later on our roof box/chimney to finish the plastering on the outside walls .See below as they start!

                                                           They have just started on our roof!

                                                                  Next the White paint ?!

                                                                  Note the Blue sky above !

After a quick breakfast Brenda shot out to catch the bus as she has decided to go down to Duquesa and then walk back along the beach front to Sabinillas, no doubt she will do some window shopping before catching the bus back up later; she is going to call into the English Butcher to find something for tonight's supper also! She is feeling a lot better as over the last couple of weeks she has been under the weather with some niggling ' old-age' aliments!

She's arrived back safely after walking her legs off! So for this evening supper we are having Grilled 'Gammon Steak' with Garden Pea and Brenda's hand-cut 'Stringfellows' - then the steaks are topped with a Grilled Pineapple slice and a 'Campo' Fried Egg!  See below for this mornings delivery!!

                                         Then the Grilled Gammon Steak with all the trimmings!

On the way to the bus along Calle Mar she saw the Council workmen building a large 'Sonbrajo' in the lay-by in front of 'Bar Rojas' so she called me and I went up and took some pictures - see below- it must be for the new arrangements for the 'Vendimia Festival' this weekend - watch this space.

                                                                         And finished, for now!

Sadly I have to report the the large PC  has crashed again after yesterdays re-birth! This means that I'm back this morning to typing the Blog 'live' on the small PC; I'm hanging on as long as possible before buying the new system - so more fingers crossed that it keeps going for now!

We have a busy week in 'Doggy World Heaven' as 'Reina' is back on Thursday for the day before 'Charlie' arrives on Friday for a two/three day sleep over,then on Saturday morning 'Freddie & Bentley' are due here for a two day sleep over! Of course 'Chispa' is in and out all the time and will no doubt hook up with all her friends over the weekend.

At lunchtime we went up to 'Bar Rojas' for a cool drink, Andy (IT) & Maria came along as it was his day off and also she had heard the Kieno was looking for somebody to work in the kitchen, she got the job and starts tomorrow morning! Great news as she is a good cook and very hardworking.

Tomorrow morning I'm up very early as I'm taking Josie across to the bus station in Estepona  to catch her flight from Malaga to Ireland as she is going to see her daughter and grandchildren before heading home 'up north' to Skelton where Den will be eager to welcome her back home! ( he's running out of Fish Paste!)

Its a rest day for the riders in the " Vuelta d'Espana15" before tomorrows major Stage 11 in Andorra with six category 1/2 climbs to the finish.

Our 'Happy Hour' will definitively not be upstairs this afternoon as the plaster will still be drying!  After supper we will catch up with all the news, sport & weather details; at the moment in Central & Northern Spain they have severe rain storms with large hailstones causing damage, the back end of the 'stuff' hitting the UK! The forecast for the " Vendimia Festival' weekend is starting to look all right but a little cooler than normal for this time of the year

.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
