We had a nice lie in this morning, little
princess ‘ Reina’ slept all night on her duvet, she goes upstairs to bed, later
in the evening, when she’s ready! She eats
everything she is given, which is not a lot as she’s on a diet, ‘Chispa’ has already
been in to see her this morning, ‘Percy’ is now due to arrive later this
evening, for his 3 week holiday here with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’
PS; ' Percy' has arrived a little early and is starting to settle in
PS; ' Percy' has arrived a little early and is starting to settle in
For our breakfast we had our usual ‘
Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, I then popped along to the local ‘Tabacs’
in ‘Calle Mar’ to top up Brenda’s ‘Pay as You Go’ Mobile Phone, on the way back
I stopped outside ‘Bar Castillo’ to chat to the locals, an English friend and
some holidaymakers.
Brenda is now catching up with the chores
around the house and I have retired upstairs to the office/studio to check out
the ‘WWW’ and then type/post today’s Blog.
Yesterday lunchtime the Mayor, Mario, our
neighbour, called in to see us and deliver the two ‘Vendemia’ hats, that I had
requested, I showed him the Blog, just as I was finishing it, he loved the
picture of his wife, Anna, and asked me to send it to his E-Mail, he agreed
that the Horse Parade and the late crushing of the Grapes was not good publicity
for the village, investigations are taking place!
This morning the sun has broken through and
the clouds have cleared, it’s bright & sunny with a light breeze, making it
very pleasant in the shade, by lunchtime it will be 30 degs+ - the rest of the
week is now looking warm & settled, hovering in high 20s/low 30s, by the weekend
a little cooler, just in time for the ‘Mountain Bike Race’ on Saturday morning,
sadly on Sunday it’s now forecasting, light to moderate rain, heavy at times,
next week is also starting the same, but it will be hot ‘ wet stuff’ as it’s
still in the low 30s, overnight down to 18/19 degs, the new drains along ‘Calle
Mar’ will be tested, watch this space!
This afternoon we will be watching Stage 10
of the ‘La Vuelta 2018 ‘ which starts in Salamanca & finished in Fermoselle
Bermillo de Sayago, after 177kms.
See below;
It will then be time to catch up with all
the ‘Quiz Shows’ that we follow, yesterday afternoon on “The Chase “ – the four
contestants won 100,00 pounds, the biggest ever prize on ‘British’ daytime TV!
This week there are also new series starting on various channels, so we will
have something to follow over the next few weeks.
This evening for our supper we are still
keeping things as simple as possible, ‘Pan-Seared flattened Fillets of Chicken’
finished in a ‘Lemon & Balsamic Vinegar Butter’ Salsa, garnished with
seared Button Mushrooms and served with finely sliced ‘French’ Green Beans
& twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ Tomorrow is still TBC, then on Thursday it’s the ‘
Head Chef & Staff’ night-off, so we will be going along to ‘Bar Castillo’
for our Tapas supper, Juan & Paqui are then going on holiday for a couple of
weeks, up to Northern Spain, so we will be giving our business to ‘Cafeteria
Nacho’ and possibly ‘Bar Rojas’ Watch this space.
PS; We have just finally received in the lunchtime post a 'Post Card' from our friends Kevin & Caroline, from Brighton, that they posted in Berlin on August 11th! - when they were at the Athletics Championships, watching their son complete. " Thanks "
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
