A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 10th/ SEPTEMBER 2018.

We had a nice lie in this morning and after a quick freshen up we took little prince ‘Percy’ for his first walk of the day, on the shady side of the street ( more later !) down to the ‘Mirador, he spent this night on our bed.

Now for his ‘First Week’s Report ‘ – he’s settled in very well, is into our routine, eating very well and even drinking some water, he’s now got his regular ‘spots’ when we are out, he’s a very happy ‘ Chappie’ and loves climbing all over us! He’s getting on with the other dogs also! 9/10 – try harder this week!

Which he will have to as on Thursday ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for a sleep over, then on Friday little princess ‘ Reina’ is with us for a two-night sleep over! As usual ‘ Chispa’ is in and out all the time and comes for walks with us.

At the moment we are checking on our ‘Xmas’ bookings with our regulars, ‘Charlie, Chico & Reina’ as we have an enquiry for a 14 year old Lab/Cross called ‘Molly’ – watch this space.

When we returned the ‘ Head Chef’ was on breakfast duty so we had his famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, to set us up for the week ahead, we will be agreeing the week’s Menu’s later, we have no appointments, so far, I will be out on my travels down to Sabinillas on Saturday morning, this week, as ‘ Scruffy’ needs a firm hold on his morning walk on Friday!

This morning we had a nice surprise as when we went out for our first walk of the day, the sun had broken through earlier and the sky was bright blue, there was just a very slight breeze, making it rather pleasant, as the forecast was ‘ Rain’! The rest of the week has now cleared up on all the forecast’s, the ‘wet-stuff’ has moved on, it’s hovering on the 26/27 degs+ mark for now, getting a little hotter by the weekend, but the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ is still in the air, as the breeze will be a little stronger, next week is starting to look a lot more settled, back to normal for the time of the year, over the weekend in Central & North East Spain they have had flash floods, washing cars away outside Toledo!  Watch this space.

Over the weekend we have been in touch with Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, on the ‘Facebook Messenger’ page, they are both very well and looking forward to their visit to sunny Manilva in five weeks time! it’s been very hot over there, 35c at times, their friends from Morecambe, are arriving on Thursday, for two weeks, they are going away with the trailer to Ganonoque, South of Ottawa, in the Thousand Islands region, and also doing a day-trip into Ottawa, we are contacting them on the ‘ Skype’ video on Sunday for a chat & catch up, while their friends are there!

See below the ‘ Trailer’ set up last weekend.

Meanwhile over in Old Colwyn, North Wales, Tim & Thea are packing as they set off back to Mojacar this weekend, for their six-month ‘ Winter-Break’ from the UK! Hopefully we will meet up with them this time, watch this space.

Just a quick update on Jack’s daughter Sue and her friend Trudie, who were in Gibraltar on Friday, they then ‘ did’ Barcelona before disembarking in Genoa, and are now on their way to Venice! These ‘ Girls’ are doing Europe with style!  It’s a “ SMALL WORLD “ !!

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Cold Roast Pork’ – sliced with my ‘French’ Sabatier carving knife! – with all the left-over Vegetables & Potatoes from last night, the ‘Pork’ was moist and very tasty, the ‘ crackling’ crisp, as it should be! The Menu’s for the rest of the week are still TBC, watch this space.

Last night after supper we watched the next episode of the “ Body guard “ on BBC TV, the political thriller/psycho-sexual drama, as the Home Secretary ( Keeley Hawes) was pronounced ‘ Dead’ – but is she ?! More  ‘going on’s’ between the Police, MI5 & the Politicians, weaving a tangled web, as the plot thickened! Then yet another surprise as the ‘ Bodyguard’ ( Richard Madden ) – in a fraught, powerful scene, shot himself in the head, the bullet turned out to be a blank, his hidden gun had been ‘ played with’ – but he didn’t know that at the time! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
