A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 13th/ SEPTEMBER 2018.

We managed a little lie in this morning, all of us, as little prince ‘Percy’ sleeps in with us, we then went for our first walk of the day with him, after a quick freshen up, down to the ‘ Plaza de la Vendemia’ as it’s a beautiful morning here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out and the sky was bright blue, with just a very light breeze, a perfect start to the day.

When we came back the ‘ Head Chef’ was on breakfast duty so we had his now famous ‘ Toasted Grilled English Pork Sausage Butties’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, we then, with his help, got the shopping list ready, as depending on the weather, it’s either going to be on Friday/Saturday morning, for me to go out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping. Watch this space.

Here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ little prince ‘Percy’ is a joy to have around, he’s such a ‘ Happy Lad ‘ – ‘Chispa’ had been in & out all the time to see him & us, early this evening ‘ Scruffy’ is due to arrive for his sleep-over, then tomorrow morning little princess ‘Reina’ is due to arrive for her two day sleep-over, just as ‘ Scruffy’ is being picked up.

As I said above we have a beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – by lunchtime it’s going to be 29 degs+ overnight 20 degs, making it a little cooler during the night, tomorrow is now going to be the same, with only one forecast showing ‘ Rain’ – for now, over the weekend it looks like the ‘wet-stuff’ is going to be with us, a little cooler, hovering down in the mid 20s, also as there is a light breeze coming along with the wet weather, at the same time. Next week is now looking a lot more settled with warmer sunshine and keeping dry, for now, watch this space.

See below the ‘Moscatel Grapes’ out to dry, hopefully kept covered, in the valley below the village, they make a sweet ‘Manilva Style ‘ Wine/Sherry’ & also ‘Raisins’ marinated in a local Brandy!

At lunchtime we ended up back at 'Bar Rojas' after our walk with 'Percy' - we had our nice cool drinks and some Tapas ( with a little section on the House also) - sat outside in the very warm afternoon sunshine, with a slight cooling breeze blowing down the street from the mountains ( Poinente )

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Omelette’s of Choice ‘- as usual – Cheese for Brenda ( grated mild Cheddar/ Parmesan) and a ‘Paysanne ‘ style filling for me, small, diced & fried potatoes & vegetables, of course made with local ‘ Campo’ Eggs (3) – just beaten with salt & pepper, made in our ‘ Omelette Pan’ with a very small dash of Vegetable Oil and a knob of butter, then turned- out, onto a hot plate and ‘ moulded’ into a torpedo shape! Served with a ‘Mixed Salad’ and some ‘Parsley’ New Potatoes.

This afternoon we will be hopefully watching Stage 18 of the ‘La Vuelta 2018’ if the new ‘IPTV’ is back online, as at the moment it’s off again! ( the ‘Team’ are working on the problem, again, we are told!) as it goes from Ejea De Los Caballeros to Lleida, over 186 kms, with a bunch/sprint finish.

See below;

After our supper this evening we will be hopefully back to channel hopping, if not we might go out for cool drink, later in the evening, watch this space.

PS; My first ' Birthday Card ' has just arrived in the lunchtime post !  " From Canada "  !!  THANKS "

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
