We were both up early this morning and
after a very quick freshen up we took little prince ‘ Percy ‘ & ‘Scruffy ‘
for their first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village, ‘Percy’
slept all night on our bed and ‘ Scruffy’ went in his favourite spot, under the
bed on the Marble floor! They have got on very well, when we returned I shot
off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, Brenda gave them their
breakfasts and had a quick toast & tea herself.
I had a quick toast & tea in ‘
ItsZabar ‘ before ‘ Mercadona’ opened, I called into the ‘ English Bookshop’ for
the local newspapers and dropped down
into the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ to call into the English Butchers’ for
some essentials.
I then attempted to go along to the local
market, at the end of the promenade, but got caught in a traffic jam, outside
the ‘ Ciudad Deportivo de Sabinillas’ ( Sports Centre ) - as this evening it’s the 8th Annual
“ International Basketball Tournament “ between the reigning champions Real Madrid and Olympiacos of Greece. All the
streets are blocked off and a fleet on large trucks were unloading all the
flooring/ seating/ staging etc! Mario, the Mayor, offered us complimentary
tickets, but we had to say ‘ No Thanks ’ as we are busy in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’

After finally picking up some fresh flowers a pot plant, I shot back up to the village to unload back at the house, I then dropped ‘ Scruffy’ off outside Rose’s apartment block, we love having him , he’s such a lovely ‘gentleman’ - starting to go a little grey, he very loving and follows me everywhere, at lunchtime little princess ‘ Reina’ was dropped off by Daniela, for her two night sleep-over.
Overnight it was very ‘close &
clammy’ as there are thunder clouds around, up in Ronda yesterday afternoon
they had ‘ flash-floods’ and later they hit Casares, the ‘White’ village in the mountains behind sunny Manilva,
thankfully the weather front then changed direction into the high ‘Sierras’ –
so hopefully we are missing the heavy ‘Rain’ for now, it was still very clammy
this morning, as the sun was trying to break through, with black clouds over
the mountains, with the possibility of thunder storms in the air later, down to
23 degs+ - over the weekend we are in for more of the same, then next week is
now looking dry and getting warmer as the week goes on, hovering in the high
20s by next weekend. Watch this space.
PS; It’s just started to ‘ RAIN ‘ !
The latest news on the new ‘Estepona
Hospital’ is good, there is just 100
days to go until the work is completed!
Today’s Stage 19 of the ‘ La Vuelta 2018
‘ goes from Llieda into ‘Andorra’ – over 154 kms, with a high climb to the
finish.
This evening for our supper we are
having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet ‘ –
using local breadcrumbs from the Bakery, shallow-fried in Vegetable Oil, with
Mushy Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – with lots of Lemon Wedges & Homemade
‘Tartar’ sauce on the side.
After our supper we settle down to watch
some TV, as the new ‘IPTV’ system is back up & running!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
