A NOW, WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 5th/ SEPTEMBER 2018.

I was up first this morning to take out little prince ‘ Percy’ for his first walk of the day, keeping to the shady side of the street down to the ‘Mirador’ – to get him into a routine for his ‘ spots’! When we came back we all had a little in, as he joined us on the bed. He slept all night downstairs in his bed and on the settees, we gave him the option last night, of upstairs or downstairs, he’s such a ‘Happy Chappy’ and is settling in very well, he has a very good appetite, he met little princess ‘Reina’ and they got on very well, she’s back this week on Friday/Saturday for a sleep-over.

When we went for our evening walk ‘ Chispa’ joined us, as we went down to the ‘Plaze de la Vendemia’ and sat in the shade on a bench seat, on our last walk later in the evening we went along ‘Calle Mar’ and as usual sat on a seat taking in the cooling night air.

See below his first pictures;

The ‘Head Chef’ was on the duty rota for breakfast, so we had ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’- smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, Brenda is now catching up with all the ironing, not her favourite job in this weather, meanwhile I’m in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ - catching up with all the news before typing/posting today’s Blog.

This morning has started a little cloudy, grey & overcast, it’s forecast for the sun to break through by lunchtime, when it will reach 30 degs+ - overnight down to 17/18 degs, for now, over the next few days and the weekend we are in for more of the same, getting a little cooler as a light breeze comes along, bringing with it some of the ‘ wet-stuff’ by Sunday, next week will also start with patchy to moderate/heavy rain, but still in the high 20s, by next weekend back to warm & sunny, watch this space.

On our lunchtime walk. keeping in the shade, we ended up at 'Bar Ocaña ' as it was the only one open! We had some nice cool drinks, Brenda's wine was ' Faustino Blanco' and my ' Tapas' was the house special of ' Crushed Egg, Potato & Bacon ' -it comes in a small double-handled 'Wok'- all the ingredients are fried - it's delicious !!

This afternoon we will be watching the highlights of the ‘Tour of Britain’ and then following today’s Stage 11 of the ‘la Vuelta 2018’ from Monbuey to Ribeira Sagra over & through the mountains, on the longest day of the Tour, 207 kms!

For our supper this evening we having our favourite ‘ Grilled Chicken Wings’ with a Mixed Salad and Baked Potato, tomorrow as it’s the Head Chef & Staff’ night-off, we are hitting the ‘ hot-spots’ of sunny Manilva, ie; ‘Bar Castillo’ for our ‘Tapas’ supper, then on Friday it’s going to be ‘Pan-Seared Tail End of Salmon Fillets’ – on Saturday it will be ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Sunday, if the weather forecast is correct, it could be our first ‘ Roast’ in a long while – watch this space.

The ‘ Council’ have just announced that work has started on the repair/maintenance of a new wall etc, on the top roundabout, leaving the village to join the Motorway system, it was washed away, back in 2010, and since then the ‘ Council’ have been chasing the ‘Junta de Andalusia’ to take responsibility for the work, a ‘RESULT’ after 8 years!

See below; The Mayor, Mario and the Councillor Augustin, checking on the progress.

Last night after supper we settled down to watch a new series starting on ‘BBC TV’ – “ Wanderlust “ – a primetime drama – starring Toni Collette, which showed the first female orgasm on the BBC!! Catch it to find out what it’s all about!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
