We all had a nice lie in this morning as
the village was quieter than normal, ‘Percy’ slept all night on the bed, after
freshening up we went out for our first walk of the day with him, not before guessing
correctly the ‘ Mystery 7 second track’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online
on the WWW “ – it was ‘ Everyday ‘ by ‘Slade’ – an unusual slow piano ‘ intro’!
We walked down to the ‘Plaza de la Vendemia’
as ‘Percy’ now has his regular ‘ spots’ – when we returned we had our regular
light breakfast of ‘Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, before getting the
day on the go.
Over the weekend, on Saturday morning, the
new ‘IPTV’ system would not load, after trying all the usual re-boots, un-plugging,
checking the setting etc, I asked for help on the ‘ Help-Line’ – finally on
Sunday lunchtime it came back on, we missed all the Saturday night programmes
that we were due to watch, but it was on for ‘ Bodyguard’ on Sunday evening,
then went off again yesterday morning, the advice this time is that I have to
install a new “ URL “ on the ‘ Amazon Fire TV Stick ‘ – so I have called for
the assistance of my ‘IT’ expert, Lee, who is calling in this evening, hopefully
to sort the problem out, watch this space.
This morning as we set off it was a little
cooler with a cloudy sky, but the sun was trying to break through, the forecast
on the ‘Spanish’ TV, last night was for a cloudy start, then getting warm &
sunny by lunchtime, with a light breeze coming in off the Mediterranean, hovering on the mid/high 20s, a little cooler during the
night, over the next few days more of the same, the ‘wet-stuff’ is still
around, in fact in parts of inland Spain it’s rather severe, to say the least,
so by the weekend we could be in for some ‘RAIN’ – next week is now looking a
lot more settled, for now, watch this space.
On the Menu front we have now agreed the menu’s for the coming week, as the ‘ Head Chef & Staff’ are back to working a seven day week, now that it’s starting to be a little cooler in the kitchens! This evening we are having, again, ‘Cold Roast Pork’ as the carving by the ‘Head Chef’- using his ‘ French ‘ Sabatier carving knife, has given us another meal! ( even a sandwich at lunchtime!) This time we are having it with an Mixed Salad & twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – accompanied with Mayonnaise.
On Wednesday it’s going to be ‘Seared Lambs Liver ‘ with all the trimmings, including a rich Red Wine, Mushroom & Onion salsa, Thursday will be ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ – as usual, on Friday it’s going to be back to a ‘ Fish n’Chip’ supper with Mushy Peas, Saturday will still be our ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Sunday, not a ‘Roast’ – possibly ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet’ Watch this space.
At lunchtime on our walk with 'Percy' we ended up at 'Bar OcaƱa ' for a cool drink and a Tapas, as it was the only Bar open along 'Calle Mar' ( 6) !

After the ‘rest day’ today’s Stage 16 of
the “ La Vuelta 2018 “ is an ‘Individual Time Trial’ from Santillana Del Mar to
Torrelavega over 32 kms.
See below;
Hopefully this evening we will be online
with the new ‘IPTV’ system and will be channel hopping ( over 3000!) to find
something to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
