We all had a little lie in this morning, ‘Percy’
stayed downstairs in his bed and on the settees, then came up and jumped on the
bed( not too early!) to let us know that it was time to go out for his first
walk of the day, Brenda, after a quick freshen up, then took him down the shady
side of the street to the ‘Mirador’- when they returned we had our light
breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, before preparing the
shopping list for tomorrow morning when I’m out on my travels, down to
Sabinillas, for our weekly shopping. ‘Chispa’ also called in to see all of us.
Today has started a little grey &
overcast again, by lunchtime, no doubt, it will brighten up, as the sun comes
out later, hovering on the 29/30 degs+ mark, down to 19 degs during the night, then
on Friday/Saturday it’s going a little cooler, as the light breeze brings in
thundery outbreaks and then from Sunday, light to moderate showers, heavy at
times during the coming week, but still hovering in the high 20s, so the ‘Wet-Stuff’
will be warm! By the end of next week it should be back to normal, warm &
sunny, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’! Watch this space.
After breakfast we made our monthly call to our ‘International Banker’ to arrange a transfer from our ‘English’ Bank Account, to our ‘ Spanish’ Bank Account, after our main annual annuities were due in, we have monthly ones also, sadly the rate of exchange into ‘Euros’ has been very low, due to ‘Brexit’ etc, it was up a little bit this morning, but we are still only just getting one for one! Watch this space.
We are taking things very easy today, because we can, as it’s the ‘Head Chef & Staff’ day-off, we will be relaxing, doing nothing in particular, keeping as cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water, with all the fans still on full blast, at lunchtime and early evening we will go for our walk with little ‘Percy’ – then later this evening we are all going out for a light ‘Tapas’ supper – along to ‘Bar Castillo’ – taking in the cooling night air, as we sit outside, taking in the sights & sounds of sunny Manilva.
This afternoon we will be watching the ‘
Tour of Britain ‘ as today it’s a 14 kms ‘Team Time Trial’ going, unusually,
uphill, from Cockermouth to Whinlatter Pass in the Lake District!
Then later in ‘ Stage 12’ of the ‘ La
Vuelta 2018 ‘ where Simon Yates retained the Race Leaders ‘Red’ Jersey, by just
1 second, it goes today from Mondoñedo to Mañon, over 181 kms to a sprint
finish.
Thoughts for the Day; See below.
