We had a nice lie in this morning after another
week of the wet & windy stuff, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – we awoke
to bright sunshine coming in through the shutters, for the first time in a long
time! After freshening up Brenda was in charge of our ‘ Saturday morning, usual
breakfast of ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast with mugs of steaming, strong, ‘ PG’
Tips Tea, to set us up for the weekend ahead.
As I said above, the sun was out early this
morning and the sky is already bright blue, with not a cloud in the sky, with
just a very slight breeze, by lunchtime it will be back to 20 degs+ - more of
the same tomorrow, next week is now looking dry, warm & sunny, with settled
weather for the whole week, hovering on the 21degs+ mark, overnight 12/13 degs,
although the threat of ‘ April Showers’ has not still gone way, watch this
space.
For our supper this evening we are having a
large ‘ Rib of Beef’ on the bone, cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘Med-Rare ‘-
Pink, no blood, then left to rest, before taking it off the bone and slicing it
into fingers ‘French’ style, served with seared Asparagus Spears, Button
Mushrooms & Baby Shallots, accompanied with the classic ‘Bearnaise’ sauce.
Keeping it simple with Whole Baby French Green Beans and of course twice-cooked
‘ Chips’
On Sunday we are not roasting this week, instead
we are having, ‘ Grilled Marinated Spanish Lamb Steaks & Cutlets ‘ served
on a bed of my famous ‘Boulangere’ Potatoes with a selection of fresh, local
Vegetables, no doubt! Not forgetting the special ‘ Mint’ sauce on the side.
This afternoon on the sports front we will
be watching; over in the ‘Premier League’ Liverpool at home to Bournemouth,
then Everton down at Swansea, meanwhile Manchester City travel down the ‘M1’ to
play Tottenham, over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona welcome Valencia and on
Sunday Real Madrid come down to play lowly Malaga. It’s the ‘ Chinese Gran Prix’
with Vettel on the pole position again, Hamilton is only 4th!
Then later this afternoon we will be
watching the rain-hit ‘ Grand National ‘ from Aintree, as three female jockeys
are seeking a place in history, Bryony Frost, Rachael Blackmore & Katie
Walsh.
See below;
This evening after supper we will settle
down to watch the second series of “ Salamander: Blood Diamonds “ over on ‘ BBC Four’ of the excellent Belgian
thriller, with sub-titles, as it’s in French & Flemish! Back to back
episodes to start as the police investigate the assassination of a refugee, the
two main cops visit the unconscious suspect in hospital and make an alarming
discovery, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
