We had a nice lie in this morning, before
getting the day on the go, after a quick freshen up, we are showering later, we
had our breakfast, of ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – open on Brown
for Brenda, with mugs of strong ‘ PG ‘ Tips Tea.
As we are not ‘ Roasting’ today Brenda is
getting this evenings vegetable selection ready, Baby, Local, Brussels Sprouts,
Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, Crushed Carrots & Turnips and
Garden Peas, at the same time she is boiling the local Potatoes, ready for me
to make our favourite ‘ Lyonnaise’ Potatoes this evening, sliced and tossed in
foaming Butter with sliced sautéed, Onions.
The large ‘ English Pork Chops’ are seared
on a very hot griddle-plate, to mark and colour them, then baked in a hot oven,
with the sliced ‘ Fuji’ Apple slices, sprinkled with sugar. Next week’s Menu’s
are TBC! Watch this space.
Speaking of next week, we are out and about
with our medical appointments, on Monday lunchtime Brenda is going down to the
main ‘Medical Centre ‘ in Sabinillas for a ‘ECG’ – she will then arrange an
appointment to see our Doctor, Natalia, on Wednesday afternoon I have my second
‘ Vitim B12 ‘ injection and then on Thursday morning I’m due at the local
Hospital in Estepona, for an X-Ray on my hand, we are then going to do a little
retail shopping ( Brenda!) as I go to see my Hairdresser, Manuel, for the
full-works, which is long overdue! ( So I’m told!) On Friday I will be out on
my travels for the weekly shopping.
Here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ we have a
quiet week, with just little princess ‘ Reina with us on Tuesday/Thursday at the
moment. No doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be calling in, all the time, to see us and her
friends.
On the weather front, today has started
grey & overcast, after a night of the wet stuff, with no sign of the sun
breaking through, as forecast, at the moment, there is also a light breeze, keeping
the overall temperature down to 17 degs+! Next week, sadly, is still looking
wet, with ‘ April Showers’ nearly every day, not getting any warmer as the week
goes on, watch this space.
NB; The sun is back in sunny Manilva, for
now!
Just a quick update on the football results;
Everton v Liverpool was a boring 0-0 draw, but later the Manchester City v
Manchester Utd was not, as City played very well in the first half and led 2-0
, it could have been 5-0, then in the second half Utd, after a half-time chat
from Mr Mourinho, came out and totally out-played City and won 2-3, Mano, who
joined us was not a happy bunny!! Over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona won 3-1 as
Messi scored his 40th hat-trick!
At the moment I have tuned into the ‘ Eurosport ‘ channel to watch the classic ‘
Paris Roubaix ‘ one-day Cycle race, “ The Hell of the North “ - it’s the oldest and one of the most
difficult one day races, with the riders having to endure a daunting gauntlet
of 29 cobbled stoned sections’ - over 257 kms!
Last night after supper, which Mano joined us for, we then settled down to watch the final two, back to back, episodes of the Danish crime /drama “ Below The Surface “ as it reached the climax, I won’t give the game away, catch it if you can, next week a new ‘Belgium’ drama starts, on Monday evening it’s the final episode of the excellent “ Marcella “ – with Anna Friel, in the title role, when the killer( Lady?) - will be uncovered, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
