A ' CRISP' & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 9th/ APRIL 2018.

We had a little lie in this morning as ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ is quiet for the week, ‘Reina’ is back with us on Tuesday/Thursday – otherwise we have no other dogs, at the moment.

While we were freshening up we usually listen to the ‘ Breakfast Show’ – with Andrew Charles, on ‘Castle Radio FM 89.2 &WWW’ – every morning he has the ‘Guess the Tune & Artist’  - a short ‘ burst’ sometime played backwards, over the past few weeks I have got it right and won!

So this morning as he played a 3 second clip, ‘Lady ‘ Brenda, as she is known to all the radio listeners! – got it straight away! I entered the details on ‘ Skype’ and sent it in – ‘ Just Walking in The Rain’ (1956) by Johnnie Ray!! He then announced that ‘ Lady’ Brenda was the first correct answer!

We then had our regular breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, as we planned our week ahead, at lunchtime Brenda has her ‘ECG’ appointment down at the main ‘ Medical Centre’ in Sabinillas, on Wednesday afternoon I have my second ‘ Vitim B12’ injection, then on Thursday I have my ‘ X-Ray ‘ appointment at the local Hospital in Estepona, so we are going to do a little retail-shopping ( Brenda’ ) while I go to my Hairdresser, Manuel, for the full, overdue, works! On Friday I will be out on my travels for the weekly shopping, as usual.

We awoke to a nice surprise, the sun was back in sunny Manilva, sadly just for the day, as the next four days are then overcast and wet! The overall temperature is hovering on the 17degs+ mark, by the coming weekend it’s due to return ( the sun!) and it will also be a little warmer, next week is now starting to look more settled, dry, warm & sunny, watch this space.

See below the beach down in Sabinillas this morning.

And our house, on the left, with the flower display !

Yesterday afternoon we finally managed to make contact, via the ‘ Skype’ landline connection, with our very dear friend, Sylvia, over at her home in Ipswich, we had a very nice, long catch up with all her news about her family and life in the Hotel business, with all it’s ups & downs, she is the same, bubbly Sylvia, she still refers to you as ‘ Hun’ and even mentioned ‘ Bacardi & Coke ‘ as her drink of choice! We are arranging to make contact again, with a full ‘ Skype’ video call, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the sport results; Real Madrid was 1-1 draw, Vettel won again at the Grand Prix and the ‘Paris-Roubaix’ – ‘Hell of the North’ race was won by the World Champion, Peter Sagan, in a sprint finish.

For our supper this evening we are having a request night, Brenda is having her favourite ‘ Confit of Duck Leg ‘ with a selection of vegetables, and stir-fried, assorted, sliced, Red, Green & Yellow Peppers, while I’m having one of my favourites ‘  Pan-Seared Minute Steak ‘ – smeared with Dijon Mustard,  topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg and of course twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ The rest of the weeks ‘Menus’ are still TBC, watch this space.

See below some pictures of the shipping on the River Mersey, coming and in port in Liverpool, this morning.

This evening after supper we are looking forward to catching the final episode of ‘ Marcella’ with Anna Friel, in the title role, as the gripping drama reach it’s climax, who is the killer ( a lady?!) perhaps, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
