I was up early this morning to see little
princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she’s with us for the next three
days, she shot upstairs, as usual, and we all had a little lie in – ‘Scruffy’
slept in his bed all night, he’s being collected later today, then after a
quick freshen up we took him out for his first walk of the day, when we
returned we had our normal breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast &
tea.
We have another glorious morning here in
sunny Manilva, the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue as the light
breeze has cleared the clouds away, in the sunshine it’s warm , in the shade
still a little ‘ crisp’ – by lunchtime it will be 19 degs+! The rest of the
week and over the weekend is staying dry, sunny & clear, hovering on the 15/17
degs mark, next week it’s sadly changing, as an ‘Atlantic’ front comes in, it’s
going a little colder and the wet stuff is due to return also, watch this
space.
For our supper this evening we are having a
‘ Casserole of Beef’ made with sliced ‘ Entrecote Steak’ – tossed in seasoned
flour and browned off with sautéed chopped Onions, I then used last night’s ‘
Red Wine, Mushroom, Onion, Shallot Gravy’ as the sauce, it will go in the oven
this evening to finish cooking, we are having a selection of fresh, local
vegetables along with the rest of Brenda’s Mashed Potato!
Yesterday evening, after supper, we finally
managed to catch Tim & Thea on the ‘ Facebook Messenger Video’ up in
Mojacar for a nice catch up, chat, gossip and details of Thea’s surprise, late,
60th birthday celebrations last weekend, the villa was on the beach at the
seaside resort of ‘La Manga’ up on the coast of the Murcia’ region, it’s a
narrow strip of land that juts out into the Mediterranean, separating it from
the ‘Mar Menor’ lagoon, 21 km long and only 100 metres wide!
Jo, Tim & Thea’s daughter, organised
the weekend, she travelled down from Madrid, with a girl friend, using the ‘
BlaBlaCar’ long distance carpooling
service, meanwhile Ben, their son, flew in with three couples from the ‘ Old
Colwyn Clan ‘! It was a ‘ Helluva’ weekend!!
See the pictures below;
Yesterday afternoon we caught the second
episode, on the ‘ BBC I-Player’ of the excellent and very gripping “ Collateral
“ - the conspiracy thriller with sex, spies, ‘ special pizza toppings’ and
possibly another killing, the lady killer, who is an Army Captain, was
blackmailed and raped by her superior officer, the ‘ pizza’ toppings was ‘ $20’
bags’ of dope! The bereaved sisters are not Syrian, they are from Iraqi, the
people traffickers, are English, operating from a Travel agents in London, watch
this space.
After supper we then watched the second
episode of ‘ Shetland’ – is it always cold, wet & windy up there?!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
