A GREY & OVERCAST AND COLD START TO THE WEEK, ON MONDAY, IN SUNNY MANILVA.

MONDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2018.

We managed a little lie in this morning, ‘ Chico’ slept across the foot of the bed and I had to wake him up this morning, after freshening up we took him out for his first walk of the day, the ‘ Contractors’ workmen have started clearing/preparation work etc, on the ‘ Phase 2 ‘ of the redevelopment of Calle Mar ‘ – tomorrow morning is when the ‘ JCBs ‘ are due to move in, when we returned we had our normal ‘ light’ breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea, we then planned the coming week’s menus, watch this space.

The morning has started grey & overcast, with black clouds on the horizon, not forecasted, there is a slight breeze making it ‘ crisp’ & cold, it looks like it could rain later, the temperatures are hovering on the 15 degs mark, for now, the rest of the week up to Saturday is looking dry & settled going up to 18 degs+ - then on Sunday it’s now forecasting more of the wet stuff, going colder again, next week is going to be cold and wet, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Cold-Cuts’ of ‘Steak & Pork’- both the Rib-Eye steaks and Pork Chops were very large, so I will carve slices of the left-over meat, we are also having the rest of the selection of local fresh vegetables and the ‘Pommes Lyonnaise’ On Tuesday it’s going to be ‘ Grilled Gammon Steak ‘ with all the trimmings along with ‘ Crepes’ for our dessert as it’s ‘ Shove Tuesday’! For our ‘ Valentine’s Day’ supper we are having ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ with all the trimmings, on Thursday it’s ‘ find something in the fridge day’ – as usual on Friday it’s ‘Fish Night’ before our ‘ Steal Night’ on Saturday, Sunday is still ‘TBC’ – watch this space.

See below some pictures of Colwyn Bay, North Wales, taken over the weekend, one showing a ‘ drone ‘ picture of the old Pier, the work at the moment is taking place inside, of dismantling the saveable parts, we are arranging a ‘ catch-up ‘ with Tim & Thea, up in sunny Mojacar later to find out their plans for next few months before they return home to Old Colwyn!

Last night after supper we watched the final episode of “ McMafia “ – a flawed but gripping finale to a ‘ Godfather-esque’ thriller, with more deaths, deal and double-crossing, this time with the hero involved in some of the shooting! It all took place in Moscow,  as our hero was thrown in jail before escaping, with a spectacular chase through old underground  ‘ Metro ‘ tunnels – reminiscent of ‘ The Third Man’ or the ‘Bourne’ films ?!

Then it was back to business as usual as the hero, Alex, made contact with the new ‘Russian Mafia’ elite, offering them a $300bn a year deal, the old Russian gangsters gang were all shot, as Vadim, with a bullet in the gut, was also, he was tracked down to a ‘safe-house’ where our hero finds him – did he have the guts to shoot him, after a quick think, he did! Then ‘Alex’ out-manoeuvred the Mexican mafia boss, out of the main deal, and at the same time he callously declined to take a call from his girl friend as she reached out for reconciliation, some loose ends, were left dangling, but with a tense, twisting climax, could there be another series, watch this space!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
