I was up early this morning but sadly
little princess ‘ Reina’ is not arriving today as Daniela is not feeling very
well so is working from home, she’s is back with us next week for her normal
four days, from Monday, next Wednesday we have ‘ Scooby’ coming back with us
for a short holiday, for five days, we have just arranged for ‘ Chispa’ to have
the ‘ full-works, a week on Monday, with a new lady, Donna at ” Groomers “ - as our regular lady, Anna, who looks after ‘Chico,
Scruffy & Charlie’ is retiring, watch this space.
After a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I did the main shop in ‘Mercadona’ and then collected the local newspapers from the ‘English Bookshop’ – Steve has the workmen in and is expanding, again, upstairs, with a Photography Studio, Balloon workshop, storage etc, - it’s the largest & only ‘ W H Smiths ‘ style Bookshop/ Newsagents on the Costa Del Sol!

I then popped along to the local market at
the far end of the promenade for our fresh flowers and a nice plant for the
lounge, he now gives me ‘ discount’ – as a regular customer! After unloading back at the house I put the
car away in the council underground car park, I then went along to the local ‘Tabacs’,
in ‘ Calle Mar’ to top-up Brenda’s mobile phone, when I returned I had a nice
toast & tea, to set me up for the day ahead!
We are going down this afternoon to
Sabinillas, as we have been able to arrange an appointment with the Estate
agent, Julie, to view Sandra & Bills apartment, Sandra sent me the contact
details, we are due to make contact with the folks, over in Everett, Ontario,
Canada, this weekend, so we will take some pictures ( see later !) sadly the ‘ Skype’ system
has gone off-line so we will use the ‘ Facebook Messenger Video system! Watch
this space.
NB; ' Skype' back online !
The apartment is in a prime ground floor position in a very attractive complex, with in easy reach of all the bars, stores etc in Sabinillas, just a short walk across the bridge to the beach! It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two terraces, a good kitchen and nice lounge, the sun is on the front terrace and private pool, all day, with a underground car park, see the pictures above, it had only just been vacated so the cleaners had not been yet!

We then stayed down in Sabinillas, as it was so nice and warm & sunny, we walked along the promenade and had a very nice ' Tapas' lunch at the ' In' Bar - " La Jabega - Frieduria " - just off the front, nice cold drinks with fresh 'Bocorones en Vinagre, Crab Salad, Tortillitas Camarones, Rosada Frito,Albondigas & Pork Skewer' - as you can see above.
It’s yet another glorious day down here on
the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ this morning, the sun was out first thing and the sky is
bright blue, with not a cloud in sight, there is a very slight breeze, so by
this afternoon it’s will reach 15/17 degs+ - Saturday & Sunday is staying
the same but then on Monday and all of next week the ‘Atlantic’ front hits us,
bringing with it clouds, rain and going colder, watch this space.
The weekend menu’s have been
updated/changed; this evening we are now having ‘ Grilled Fillet of Salmon ‘ –
I bought, this morning, from the ‘ Fish Market’ a very nice ‘ tail-end’ – with Parsley
New Potatoes, Broccoli Florets & Garden Peas, with a sauceboat of the
classic ‘ Hollandaise’ sauce, on Saturday evening it’s going to be a large ‘Entrecote
Steak’ – grilled and sliced ‘ French’ style with all the trimmings, then on
Sunday, instead of the ‘ Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto’ we are
now having my famous classic version of “ Lancashire Hotpot “ using some very nice ‘ Spanish Lamb Steaks &
Cutlets’ from the new ‘ Butchery’ counter as the ‘ New Zealand, South Island,
Rack of Lamb’ is no longer in stock!
We have a ‘ Doggy-Free’ weekend ahead, the
first in a while, so we are taking things easy, relaxing, catching up with the
reading and basically doing nothing, because we can! It’s a busy sports weekend
with the Football, Rugby, Racing, Olympics etc, watch this space.
PS; Our ' Doggy-Free' weekend has just changed as little princess ' Reina' is now joining us on Sunday for the day !!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
