A ' CRISP' & VERY SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 11th/ FEBRUARY 2018.

We all had a little lie in this morning, ‘ Chico’ slept on the bed, all night, in ‘ Scruffs’ place, as he was collected by Rose yesterday afternoon, Adrian was brought home in the ambulance after his hip replacement operation, sooner than was thought,  we will miss ‘ Scruffy’ as he’s such good company, Chico’ is with us until a week on Wednesday, next week ‘ Reina’ is here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ for just two days, on Thursday/ Friday, as usual ‘ Chispa’ is in & out all the time.

After freshening up we took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, he’s settled in very well, is eating everything we give him, he’s another real character and follows me all the time, he’s at my feet as I’m typing/posting today’s Blog, for our breakfast I had ‘ Campo Fried Eggs & Crispy Smoked Bacon ‘ and Brenda requested ‘ Sauteed Mushrooms & Crispy Smoked Bacon’ on Brown Toast – with buttered White Toast for me, and mugs of steaming ‘ PG’ Tips!

Brenda is now washing/shampooing her hair and as you can see I’m up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ before typing/ posting the Blog.

The sun was out first thing this morning and the sky is already bright blue, there is a very slight breeze making it ‘ Crisp’ but still very pleasant in the sunshine, by lunchtime it’s will be warm & sunny, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – back to normal, for now, 18/19 degs+ - next week is also looking dry, warm & sunny, with clear blue skies, hovering on the 17/18 degs mark, overnight 9/11 degs+ - watch this space.

See below a picture taken from the window/balcony of the ‘ Mayors ‘ office in the Town Hall showing ‘ Calle Mar ‘ as the work progresses, ‘Phase2’ is due to commence tomorrow, when they start on digging up the rest of the street down to the junction, from the top of our street, on Friday they took away the Contractors’ Portakabin ‘ to clear the space, it means that we will loose our space outside ‘ Bar Rojas’ where we have been sitting in the sunshine! Watch this space.

Over the weekend the new ‘UK’ aircraft carrier “ HMS Queen Elizabeth “ – the largest warship ever built for the Royal Navy arrived in Gibraltar, as you can see in the pictures below.

Just a quick update on the sports results; Ireland won 56-19 & England won 12-6 – Everton won 3-1 & Manchester City won 5-1 with Sergio Aguero scoring 4 goals, Real Madrid won 5-2 with Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick!

At lunchtime we ended up. again, for the third day on the trot, back at ' Bar Rojas ' for a nice cool drink and some Tapas, sat in the very hot sunshine, for the last time for a while, as the ' Contractors' move in tomorrow morning to start digging up the street!

This evening for our supper we are having the ‘English Pork Chops’ – seared on a very hot griddle-plate, then baked in the oven, with caramelized ‘ Fuji’ Apple slices, with the classic ‘ Pommes de Terre Lyonnaise ‘ and a selection of local fresh vegetables, accompanied with a sauceboat of ‘ Oxtail’ gravy!

Last night after our supper we watched the first episode of the new Swedish crime drama series of “ Modus “ – with sub titles, when needed, starring Kim Cattrall as the ‘ US ‘ President and Greg Wise as a ‘ Machiavellian’ FBI agent! It all goes ‘ Pear Shaped ‘ when the President goes missing?! There are killings, flashbacks of rape, dodgy agents etc, one not to miss!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
