AT THE MOMENT A DRY & ' FRESH' SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 11th MAY 2020.  “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 58 “

After freshening up, I was on the breakfast rota, as usual, on a Monday Morning, so had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP ‘ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with her favourite ‘ sliced/seared’ Button Mushrooms, tossed in the Bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my Butty, with mugs of hot/strong ‘PG Tips’ Tea, to start ‘ Week 9 ‘ of “ LOCKDOWN” here in sunny Manilva.

We were listening to ‘ Mix 106 fm’ as we had a short power cut and ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ was off-air, the ‘ Mystery Voice’ came on, it was ‘ Frank Lampard’ – the ex footballer, which I got, so I’m first in this week’s draw, again!

Yesterday afternoon on her ‘ Facebook’ page our dear friend Leah advertised a stack ‘Fan’ for sale, as she was moving out, it was only a few Euros, so I called her and she said that she would drop it off later, when she came, it turned out to be the ‘Rolls Royce’ of Fans, needing two persons to carry it in! She also brought a standard ‘ White Fan’- so the ‘ Rolls Royce’ is now in the main lounge, the one from there is up in my office/studio and the ‘ White Fan’ is up on the top floor, in the main guest bedroom, as the ceiling fan is broken! ‘RESULT’

She would not take any money off us, so we had a nice glass of chilled ‘ Cava’ with her as it was nearly our ‘ Happy Hour’!

This morning has started dry & sunny, with a stiff breeze and a few patchy clouds hanging around, yesterday it stayed dry and sunny, it’s forecast to rain later today, only reaching 20 degs+ - overnight down to 14 degs+ and then the rest of the week is looking damp with the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ hitting us all week, with lots of clouds and the breeze keeping up, but still hovering in the high ‘ teens’- low 20s – by this Sunday the sunshine id due to return, next week is now looking dry, warm and sunny, with lots of sunshine, going back up to 25 degs+ by next Tuesday, about normal for the time of the year, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Yesterday evening a ‘ National Government’ spokesman, announced up in Madrid, that a new order was coming into force at midnight, allowing those who live in the same residence will be able to travel in the same car, occupying all of the seats and without having to wear a face mask! But still under the rules of ‘ Phase 0’ or ‘Phase 1’ – making it a little difficult to interpret what is actually allowed?! ( When, to where & distance etc )  Watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Baked Spanish Pork Loin Steaks’ – seared on a very hot griddle-plate- then topped with a ‘ Mixed Herb Crust’ – finished in a very hot oven, garnished with seared ‘ Button Mushrooms and accompanied with a sauceboat of ‘Pan Gravy’ - served with Glazed Baby Carrots, Braised Cabbage with Acelgas and ‘ Parsley’ New Potatoes.

On Tuesday it’s going to be ‘ Pie N ‘Chips’ – with ‘ Steak & Kidney Pies ‘ ( frozen) resting on a pool of Pan Gravy with once-cooked ‘ Frits’ ( frozen) and Garden Peas ( frozen also!)  - Wednesday is ‘ Chicken Empanades’ – Thursday ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ and of course on Friday a ‘ Fish n’ Chip supper, for this Saturday it will be ‘ Entrecote Pizzaiola ‘ – then on Sunday we will be roasting, TBC. Watch this space.

Yesterday evening after supper we caught the next exciting episode of the excellent ‘ Killing Eve’ with just two murders this week, one with a Rubber Hose Pipe ( strangled ) and the other with a Pitch Fork ( in the neck!)

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
