A DRY, WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 15th/ MAY 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 62 “

As usual on a Friday morning the sound of the goods delivery men, sliding down the pallets of stock, to the small shop at the bottom of our street, woke us up!

After freshening up we had a nice toast and tea before getting another day on the go, in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ - down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva.

As we were getting ready we were listening to, as we do everyday, to  the ‘ Lockdown Party ‘ show on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW ‘ – the ‘ Mystery Voice’ Quiz came on, I got it straight away, it was the late and great ‘ Little Richard’ – so I have got five correct answers, again, this week!

I then ‘ masked/gloved’ up and went around the bottom of the village and up to our local Butchers  “ Carniceria Jose “  for our ‘Entrecote Steaks’ for Saturday, as well as a little stock for the deep-freeze.

When I returned Brenda then ‘ masked/gloved’ up and shot down to the local shop for the fresh fruit & vegetables, before going for a walk around the bottom of the village, in the ‘ Over 70s’ time-slot, 10 -00 am to 12 -00 noon, as I’m upstairs in the office/studio typing/posting today’s Blog.

Yesterday afternoon we had a ‘ Facebook message from our dear friend  Leah, asking us if there was any chance that little ‘ Miss Bella’ could come and stay with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ from this coming  Sunday until next Thursday, whilst she moves across to Gibraltar, with her son Deemy, into her new apartment, giving them the chance to move and settle in! What a lovely surprise, we are very excited to look after ‘Bella’ for her first ‘ sleep-overs’ with us, usually she was only with us for one day at the time!

Then an hour later there was an ‘Facebook ‘ message from Rose, asking us if we could have ‘ Scruffy’ back with us next Thursday evening/ Friday, as Adrian has a possible appointment at the ‘Costa Del Sol Hospital’ -  which has been cancelled twice before, for his all-day ‘Heart’ treatment injection, so hopefully it will not be cancelled for a third time, watch this space.

Today, at the moment its ‘ Fresh’ and dry, with some blue sky showing, with still lots of clouds, as there is only a light breeze, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 20 degs+ - overnight down to 13 degs+ - with the chance of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ returning later, over the weekend it’s looking the same, but going a little warmer as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front moves in, bringing with it by next week, lots of warm/hot sunshine, slowly going up to 25/26 degs+ by mid week, if not even hotter, overnight only down to 18 degs+ -  the following week even warmer, time for the all the fans to go on, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

This morning the ‘ Councils’ Cleansing Department has been able to re-start the disinfecting, sanitising and humidifying of all the streets as the overall weather forecasts are looking better, as over the past few days they have not been out & about due to the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ hitting us!

‘Fingers Crossed’ that the ‘ National Government ‘ up in Madrid today reconsiders not moving the province of Malaga, from ‘ Phase 0 ‘ up to ‘ Phase 1’ –  earlier this week, so as the local business’s can re-open, within the new rules/restrictions, in time for the warm and sunny weather, starting next week, whilst still keeping us in the most severe ‘ Lockdown’ in Europe! Watch this space.

NB; Spain has extended restrictions on non-essential travel for people coming into the Spanish territory until, at least, the 15th June!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet’ – coated in Breadcrumbs from the local Bakery, shallow-fried in Vegetable Oil, until crisp & golden, accompanied with Homemade  ‘ Tartar’ sauce ( Brenda ) and lots of Lemon Wedges, served with ‘ Mushy Green Peas’ (only one more tin left!) and of course triple-cooked ‘ Chips’

We will be after supper, as usual, will then be channel hopping to find something to watch on TV.

Last night as were going to bed with made contact with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario Canada, on the ' Skype' video, which we had arranged earlier in the day, it was mid-night here, 6-00 pm over there, Sandra has just finished working from home and Bill had just come in from working with his friend, building decking, for a local politician,  despite it still being rather cold, we had good catch-up with all their news, this weekend Alanna and Blake are coming down from Ottawa, so we are going have 'Skype' video link up again, to find out about all their news, we also updated the folks with some of of our exciting news from the past few days, at the same time!

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “
