A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 23rd/MAY 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 70 “

We had a little in this morning after a ‘ late’ night out & about on the ‘Town’! (More Later!) After freshening up, as usual, on a Saturday morning, Brenda was on the breakfast rota so I had her famous ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast ‘ – boiled for herself, with brown toast fingers, with mugs of very strong/hot tea, to start the day in the right direction.

We have another glorious morning here in a very sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out first thing and the sky is bright blue and cloudless, with a ‘ freshening’ light breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 27 degs+ - overnight only down to 18 degs+ - tomorrow it will be a little cooler as the breeze picks up, 23/24 degs+ - next week it’s going to be warm & sunny each day, with a few patchy clouds at times, with lots of sunshine, hovering in the mid 20s all week, the following week we are in for a ‘ Hot-One’ - at the start of June! Watch this space.

Over the past two days I had a problem with our ‘ Online Spanish Bank Account’ – it would not load, after many attempts I sent an ‘E-Mail’ to them asking ‘What is going on’?! With no quick reply, I asked our friend Brian for help, he suggested a few ways, but still with no luck, I then gave our friend Andy a ‘ Skype’ video call, he said he would call in on his way back from the supermarket ‘Suma’ – yesterday, early evening, he soon sorted the problem, by re-setting the ‘ Google History’ – at the same time showing me how to do it next time! He also checked out all the systems and updated were required, he was very impressed with the new speed, as well as the low cost, with the new  ‘OlivNet’ - so he going to change to it over the weekend, which means that I will get a ‘ Free’ month, as I have recommended him!  ” RESULT “

While he was having a beer, Andy had a message from Brian, saying he was on his way up to the village, after finishing work ( online from home) – so they arranged to meet up at ‘ Bar Rojas Vida Sol’ – we then joined them later, after supper, sat outside on a ‘ balmy’ evening, taking in the sights & sounds of the village, with the very large drinks flowing, It’s the only ‘Bar’ open, at the moment, so the two ‘ Fabio’s’ are very busy, with tables spaced out on both sides of the street, even doing a local  ‘Pizza’ delivery service, on a ‘Cream Vespa Scooter -  we came the short way back home, feeling no pain and later than normal!

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Just a quick update on the latest news; The ‘ Malaga’ province will not be going up to ‘ Phase 2 ‘ on Monday, unlike the rest of Andaluicia, as  we are still a week behind!

On the latest ‘ Heath Reports’ published yesterday, it’s showing that sunny Manilva, has gone up from 3 reported/confirmed case’s to 5/6 – showing that we still need to take all the necessary precautions, at all times, under the ‘Lockdown’ rules and regulations!

For our supper we are having a old ‘ Italian’ classic dish, that I first had, back in Liverpool, in the late 60s, as various Italian restaurants opened, around the city, including the ‘La Bussola’ downstairs in Bold Street, where I worked in the evenings!

See below;

 “ Entrecote allla Pizzaiola “  - my version of the classic recipe, a Trimmed ‘Sirloin Steak’  grilled ‘ Med-Rare’ then left to rest, before topping it with a rich ‘ Salsa/Sauce’ made with small diced Tomato ‘Concasse ‘ ( skinned & deseeded) Diced Shallots & Garlic Paste, Chopped Capers & Anchovy’s ( option of adding Black Olives) - all sweated-off in a little Red Wine, with lots of Oregano, then smeared on the ‘Steaks’ and lightly grilled!  The ‘ Aromas’ are to die for!!  Served with whole Baby ‘ French’ ( sorry!)  Green Beans and triple-cooked ‘ Frits’

                                              “ STAY SAFE AND WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
