A NOW ' CRISP' & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE ' CHRISTMAS WEEKEND'

FRIDAY 21st/ DECEMBER 2018.

We were both up early this morning, ‘ Chico’ spent the night on the duvet and ‘Charlie’ was downstairs on the settees, as usual, after a quick freshen up Brenda took both dogs out for their first walk of the day around the bottom of the village as Pedro, from the Garage was due to drop-off the car at 9-00am after coming back from the re-take ( at no cost!) of it’s ‘ MOT-ITV ‘ yesterday, when it failed, on two small checks ( light bulb & break) – I was then going to carry on out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the main ‘Xmas’ weekly shopping etc, sadly he has still not appeared, nearly 4 hours later?!

So it’s ‘ Plan B ‘ – I will be out hopefully tomorrow morning – ‘ fingers crossed’ – I’m also going down on Sunday morning to the ‘ English Butchers’ in the Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ to collect the fresh ‘Turkey & Pigs in Blanket’!  I have planned to ‘ Roast ‘ the Turkey on Christmas Eve ( Monday)  Watch this space.

This morning it’s a little cooler than forecast, down to only 17 degs, as there is a light breeze blowing, the clouds are clearing and the blue sky is starting to appear, over the weekend we are in for more of the same, next week is still looking dry & settled, with sunshine all the time, going a little warmer, overnight hovering on the 12 degs+ mark, as the threat of the ‘wet-stuff’ has been blown away, so on ‘ Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day ‘ – the sun will be shining over sunny Manilva!

See the beach down in Sabinillas this morning, taken by a friend!

The rest of the ‘Xmas’ week is staying the same but by the following weekend leading up to the ‘ New Year’ celebrations, when Tim & Thea are joining us for a few days, it now looks like we are in for some unsettled weather, with the ‘ wet-stuff’ returning, watch this space.

See below Liverpool & St.Georges Hall at night and a unusual picture with the ‘North Wales’ hills in the background.

This evening for our supper we are keeping things simple, ‘Pan-Seared Fillets of Salmon’ – accompanied with the classic ‘Hollandaise ‘sauce, served with Broccoli Florets & Garden Peas and Parsley New Potatoes. Saturday is ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Sunday we are having a small ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ with all the trimmings, now on ‘Xmas Eve’ it’s going to be ‘ Cold Roast Pork’ – before the ‘Turkey Extravaganza ‘ over the next two days! Watch this space.

This evening after supper we will settled down to watch all our regular programmes before channel hopping to find a good film to watch, last night after the ‘IPTV’ system was re-set, with the help of Lee & Daniela,we caught the Final of ‘ MasterChef – The Professionals’ – Daniela also asked us if we could have little princess ‘Reina’ with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for ‘ New Years Eve’ – as usual - as she’s out ‘ gigging’ at a local ‘ Bar/Restaurant’ – one more won’t make any difference – she does get on with both ‘Charlie & Chico’ anyway!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
