A ' CRISP' AND NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY. " CHRISTMAS DAY "

TUESDAY 25th/DECEMBER 2O18. “ CHRISTMAS DAY – DIA DE NAVIDAD “

We were all up a little early this morning as ‘ Charlie’ decided  it was time to go out and tapped Brenda on her shoulder, he had spent the night on the rug on her side of the bed, ‘ Chico’ was on the blanket at the foot of the bed, after a quick freshen up we shot out for their first walk of the day around the bottom of the very quiet village, the only Bar open today is ‘ Bar Rojas’ at the top of our street, last night here in Spain it was ‘Nochebuena’ when by tradition all Spanish family’s come together for a big party!

This morning has started a little grey & overcast as well as cooler, the sun is just now breaking through and by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 16/17 degs+ when hopefully the sun will be back in sunny Manilva! The rest of the week and over the weekend into next week’s ‘ New Years Eves’ celebrations is looking the same, thankfully the threat of the –wet-stuff’ has gone away, for now!! Watch this space.

When we returned I made ‘ Campo’ Scrambled Eggs on Toast, Brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong Tea, we then called Norah & Jenny on the ‘ Skype’ landline system, as Jenny is staying with Norah for Christmas, last night as were going to bed we called Jack & Lyn on the ‘ Skype’ video system, over in Melbourne, Australia, sadly it was a very poor connection, they were just going out for their ‘Christmas Lunch’ with Lyn’s daughter Deb, on her new patio outside her house, with all the family, sadly the folks over in Australia have not yet received our ‘ Xmas Cards’ - the same has happened in Everett, Ontario, Cananda, to Sandra & Bills cards,  this is the second time in two years, after posting them at the end of November! We are very sorry and upset, again!!

It was then time to prepare this evening’s ‘ Banquet’ when our friend Andy is joining us, I made the savoury ‘Mixed Herb’ Stuffing and at the same time cooked the ‘ Pigs in Blankets’ in the oven, meanwhile the ‘Second/Vegetables Chef ’ was preparing the ‘ Baby Parsnips in Honey, Baby Brussels Sprouts ( Local) with Smoked Bacon Sippets, Glazed Carrot Batons, Cauliflower Florets in a Three Cheese Sauce & Garden Peas’ - after par-boiling the sliced in half Potatoes I shook them vigorously, and placed them in the roasting tray, in, for the first time, this year, “ Beef Dripping “ from the ‘English Butchers’! We are having a small selection of ‘Tapas’ to start and for our dessert it’s the traditional ‘Christmas Pudding ‘ with Brandy Butter sauce, and a selection of Wines, Beers, Drinks, etc! Watch this space.

We would like to wish all our family and friends all over the World a very “ Merry Christmas – Feliz Navidades “  and a “ Healthy, Wealthy & Happy New Year “  ‘ Malcolm & Brenda ‘ in sunny Manilva. xxxx

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
