A ' CRISP' & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 20th/ DECEMBER 2018.

Just a little lie in this morning before both dogs let us know it was time to go out, ‘Chico’ as usual, spent the night on the blankets/duvet on the floor at the foot of the bed, ‘ Charlie’ – who arrived late last night, as usual, likes to roam during the night, between the three settees, the rugs and the blanket by the tree, they have both settled in very well, ‘ Charlie’s’ Epilepsy medication has been revised, we then took them out for their first walk of the day around the bottom of the village.

When we all returned I was on the breakfast rota so I made my now famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘HP ’Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of steaming Tea.We then put together the main ‘ Xmas Shopping’ list for tomorrow morning when I will be out on my travels, down to Sabinillas, watch this space.

This morning the sun has managed to break through earlier than yesterday, the sky is clearing and there is only a very light breeze, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 19/20 degs+ - good for the time of the year, tomorrow and over the ‘ Pre-Christmas ‘ weekend it’s going to get a little warmer, staying dry & sunny, next week from ‘ Christmas Eve ‘ onwards we are in for a settled spell of dry, warm & sunny weather, with patchy clouds at times, hovering in the low 20s, down to 12 degs+ during the night, making it rather pleasant to say the least, as the threat of the ‘wet-stuff’ has gone away, watch this space.

Sadly yesterday evening we couldn’t go down to the ‘ Christmas Band Concert’ down at the ‘ Iglesia Santa Ana Church’ as we had planned as ‘ Charlie’ arrived too late! We managed to see some of the Concert on a live feed, taken by the Mayor, Mario, our neighbour, and posted on  ‘Facebook’ – it was the most spectacular Concert, as this year, for the first time, they had a large screen presentation to match the various tunes that they played!

See the pictures below!

Meanwhile over in Melbourne Jack & Lyn were treated by Lyn’s daughter, Deb and taken on a horse led open top coach ride around the streets of Packenham, where they live, to see all the house’s decorated with the ‘Christmas Lights’!

Down in Sabinillas at the main roundabout the workmen have finally erected the pedestrian lights, just in time for the ‘ Xmas Rush’ !

At lunchtime after our walk we ended up sat outside ' Bar Rojas ' in the very hot sunshine, taking in the sights & sounds of a very sunny Manilva, as we had our cool drinks and some of Monica's excellent 'Tapas'

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the savoury ‘ Cottage Pie’ – which, even if a say so myself, was very tasty! Tomorrow night it’s going to ‘Pan-Seared Fillets of Salmon’ with Baby New Potatoes, on Saturday it will be our regular ‘ Steak Night’ – then on Sunday we are going to have a ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ with all the trimmings, for ‘ Christmas Eve’ we are going to treat ourselves (TBC) – then it will be time for the “ Turkey Extravaganza “ – on ‘Christmas Day & Boxing Day’ - after picking up the Fresh Turkey ( 5 Kilos) from the ‘English Butchers’- down in the ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ - on Monday morning! Watch this space.

This evening Lee is calling in to re-set all the programmes for the ‘IPTV’ system, so hopefully we will be back on the ‘Multi-Channels’ catching up with all the shows/sport that we have missed, over the past couple of days, watch this space.
