A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 22nd/OCTOBER 2014.

No lie in this morning as its ‘Pie’ day here in sunny Manilva, yes the sun is out again and it’s already warm and getting hotter later - 29/30degs still!

After breakfast I got tonight’s supper on the go “Chicken &Mushroom Tarragon Pie” I make the filling and then this evening cover it with the pastry and bake it in the oven; I use Chicken Breast, diced, floured and browned off, then I sweat-off the diced Onions, Carrots, Turnips, Leek Celery, Mushrooms with a touch of Garlic and the secret ingreadinents, a good slug of Brenda’s White Wine and lots of Tarragon, add the Chicken, a good strong Chicken & Vegetable stock, season to taste and adjust the consistency and leave it to cook-off! The aromas are wafting up the street!! See below the before picture - after to follow !

‘Chispa’ came calling early this morning and is playing around the house and running up and down the street like a mad dog! ‘Riena’ is due tomorrow morning but ‘Scruffy’ has cancelled as Rose has changed shifts, he’s back next week on Wednesday & Thursday.

The ‘Queen’ of Skelton has shown some concern for our heart/cholesterols levels after last night ‘Brunch’ We can assure her that we are tested/ checked regularly by our Doctor and the latest results are OK! Thanks for the concern and warning!! Hope you survived the ‘Hurricane Gonzalo’ intact ‘up north’ in Skelton?!

So this evening it’s the ‘Match of the Day’ over at Anfield as Liverpool welcome Real Madrid in a qualifying round of the ‘UEFA Champions League’ – I will watch it up in the office on the large PC. Last night there was a feast of goals (40!) as Chelsea won 6-0,Bayern Munich won 1-7 in Rome,Shakt Donsk won 7-0 and Barcelona won 3-1 Sadly Manchester City gave away a two goal lead and could only draw 2-2!

The route of next ears Tour De France has just been presented in Paris!

The rest of the day we are taking things easy, catching up with our reading and looking forward to our supper this evening.

Thoughts for the Day’ See above.
