A WARM AND HOT SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 17th/ OCTOBER 2014.

We were up bright and early this morning and after a quick breakfast we shot around to the local market for some fresh flowers; then we went down to Sabinillas to collect the newspapers and then do our main shop in ‘Mercadona’ before on the way back calling into ‘Super Sol’ for some English essentials

In Mercadona a new counter has opened dispensing warm Bread & Savories,so I tried the two Empanades which are like Cornish Pasties,the Spanish version,from the Northern region of Galicia; also in the picture below are some of a very large bag of Fresh Green Beans that out neighbour passed in!

It’s a beautiful day here in sunny Manilva,the sun is out and its already warm and by lunchtime it will be hot, more to come over the weekend and into the start of next week, it’s a shame that we have no visitors over for a quick golf/gourmet weekend break here in “ Sextons Boutique Hotel & Restaurant” !

As we came back up to the house to un-pack ‘Chispa’ came crashing in, she is out and about all the time now and no doubt will be back later; ‘Scruffy’ is due at lunchtime for a three day sleep over until Monday. We are waiting to hear when ‘Reina’ is back next week. We have an appointment on Tuesday late afternoon for some eye checks for Brenda’s with the Consultant at the hospital and next Friday after the shopping I’m picking Lilli up from the bus station over in Marbella in the early evening.

At lunchtime we went up to 'Bar Rojas' with' 'Chispa' for a cool drink and a Tapas,the picture below shows the large Fresh 'Boquorones' from Estepona and also some of a very large bag of Green Beans that our neighbor passed in from her Campo! Also above our some pictures of sunny Manilva at lunchtime today!!

So I’m going to get tonight’s supper ready after I’ve posted the Blog; we are having “Goujons of Hake Fillet in Cruzcampo Tempura Batter” with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked diced Frits, lots of Lemon Wedges on the side and of course my Homemade Tartar sauce. Saturday it’s ‘Entrecote Steak’ and on Sunday no roast this week so we are having Turkey Breast Escalope with savory rice and Mushroom Sauce.See below.

Tonight after supper we will find a film to watch as Friday is a good film night.

Thought for the Day; See above.
