A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 10th/ OCTOBER 2014.

Up again at the crack of dawn before the street lights had gone off; no sign of any of the wet stuff, the forecast changed last night, so it’s due on Saturday morning instead but the overall temperatures are still hovering on the 28degs mark!

We shot around to the local market to get some fresh flowers and I called into the surgery to make another appointment for my routine blood tests as I missed/forgot that I had one yesterday morning – its either old age or the excitement of the ‘Prostrate’ results – that’s my excuse!!

We then carried on down to Sabinillas for our regular weekly shopping; we called into the ‘English Bookshop’ for the papers and I exchanged some books, we are trying a new author for a change “ Jeffery Deaver ” and the ‘Lincoln Ryme’s’ thrillers. Then it was the main shop at ‘Mercadona’ and a few English essentials ( Lea & Perrins!) at ‘Super Sol’

This evening’s culinary delight prepared by the resident ‘ Chef de Cuisine’ and ably assisted by his wife is ‘Fillets of Hake Duglere’ – I will prepare the ingredients later for the sauce, from the vegetable department we are having Saffron New Potatoes & Garden Peas. Tomorrow night it’s ‘Entrecote Steak’ and then on Sunday. as promised “ Roast Leg of Spanish Lamb ”with Boulangere Potatoes; Lee & Daniela are joining us for their first Sunday Roast a la ‘Casa!’ Assorted ‘House Tapas’ to start and another specilalty of the house ‘Crepes’ for the dessert! Our 'Motto' below!

‘Scruffy’ is coming at lunchtime for a sleep over so we will find out when he is back with us for next week Meanwhile ‘Chispa’ is still on ‘lock-down’ but hopefully she will be out and about as normal next week!'Scruffy' arrived in between a surprise heavy shower with his overnight bed and his new shower proof waistcoat,see the picture above, very smart !

We are taking things easy today and tomorrow, especially if it rains as forecast on Saturday; we will get into our new books in the afternoons. The reports from Skelton after the ‘Queens’ visit to the ‘Grayson Perry Tapestries’ exhibition are ‘Brilliant, Astonishing, Funny,Witty & Thought Provoking,Perfect’ I think she is ‘well pleased’ to say the least – she has even bought the ‘App’

So this evening after our fish supper we will settle down and find a film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
