A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY  22nd/JULY 2020.    “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 31 “

No lie in this morning, after a quick freshen up and toast & tea we shot off ‘ Masked’ up, down to the ‘Suma’ supermarket to stock up with our essentials, I then picked Brenda up in the car and dropped her back at the house to unload.

Before we left I managed to get the answer to the ‘ Mystery Voice’ quiz on ‘ mix106fm’ – it was John Craven, OBE, from ‘ Newsround/Countyfile on BBC TV!

We than called Lyn over in Melbourne on the ‘Facebook’ messenger video link up, for a nice chat & catch up, as she is back in lockdown in the State of Victoria, over in Australia, see map below;

She is fine & well, Annette & Deb are looking after her, they have arranged ‘ Meals on Wheel’ if she needs it, she is still walking the dog around the lake in the village, next week Deb is taking her to hospital for a consultation re-her hip! “ Stay Safe & Well Inside – At All Times “

NB; We have just received your beautiful birthday card, posted on the 05/06/20!  This morning Brenda spoke to the new Post Lady at the Sub-Post-Office about your missing card - so we were very excited at lunchtime to find your card in our post box!     " RESULT "

" Thank You very much "  Lots of Love, Brenda & Malcolm xxxx

The sun was out first thing this morning and the sky is cloudless and blue as there is a slight breeze, so by lunchtime it’s going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – reaching 30/31 degs+ - overnight only dropping to 21/22 degs+ - tomorrow going even hotter, by Friday up into the mid 30s – with very hot sunshine, as the breeze drops, over the weekend going just a little cooler, as it pick up a little, next week it’s looking like we are in for more of the same, at August approaches, with lots of hot sunshine, a few patchy clouds at times and a light breeze, hovering in high 20s/low 30s all week, the following week, as August arrives, over the next weekend, is going to be a very ‘Hot-One’ Watch this space.

This weekend here in sunny Manilva it’s usually one of the big religious festivals of the year, as the village celebrates the patron saint of the village ‘ St. Anna ‘ – sadly this year, of course, there will be no processions followed by singing, dancing & drinking, on Sunday there will be a special Mass, followed by a’ quiet occasion’ taking place on the ‘ Plaza Pozo Del Rey’ in the centre of the village!

For our supper this evening we are having for a change ‘ Albondigas En Salsa ‘  - ‘Meatballs finished in a rich Tomato, Onion/Shallot & Red Pimento Salsa! Served on a bed of Spaghetti with some finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans on the side, tomorrow, as usual on a Thursday, the ‘ Head Chef & Second Chef’ have been given the night-off, so we are going out on the ‘ Town’ – watch this space.

NB; On Friday, it’s going to be another change from our regular ‘ Fish Supper’ as I’m going to prepare/make my version/recipe of the classic ‘ Restaurant Flambe’ dish of “ Scampi Provencale “ – served with Basmati Rice.  Watch this space.

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES – IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE & MASKED “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
