A NOW VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 12th/ JULY 2020.    “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 21 “

We had a nice lie in this morning before the church bells (2) started calling the ‘ faithful’ to Mass! After freshening up we had a quick toast & tea, to set us up for another day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva!!

I’m listening as usual to “ Castle Radio FM 89,2 & Online on the WWW” – as I’m up in the office /studio typing/ posting today’s Blog, at lunchtime Andrew Charles is presenting the lunchtime show, as Pete Black, with his wife, is over here in Puerto de la Duquesa, at his apartment for a two-week holiday.

PS; The show has just been cancelled due to internet problems this week!

This morning has started a little overcast, with a sea mist, the sun is now breaking through and the clouds are slowly clearing, the blue sky is appearing, as there is a light breeze, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 28/29 degs+ - overnight only down to 22/23 degs+ - next week is now looking very settled, with lots of sunshine, with a few patchy clouds hanging around at times, hovering in the high 20s all week, the following week is still going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ as the breeze drops, with very hot sunshine, hovering in the low 30s, later in the week going up to 34/35 degs! Watch this space.

Meanwhile over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, Sandra & Bill have escaped the heat/humidity and gone up to Hope Bay to the trailer, for the weekend, again, Bill has completed the decking/garden, as you can see below in the before and after pictures!

We have arranged to try and make contact with the folks this evening, at 6 -00 pm our time, 12 noon over in Canada, as when they are up in Hope Bay they don’t have very good online connections etc, Sandra is trying to link-up via ‘Skype of Facebook’ – Watch this space.

Down the coast in Gibraltar over the weekend, berthed in the Marina, is one of the World’s largest private sailing yachts, the “ Eos “ – a three-masted  ‘Bermuda’ rigged schooner, owned by the movie and media billionaire Barry Diller, the husband of the fashion designer Diane von Fus¡rstenberg! The 200 feet masts are the maximum height allowed to enable the craft to pass underneath bridges across the globe! It’s nearly 305 feet in length, as room for 16 guests and a crew of 21, with two Chefs, three engineers, nine deck crew and captains and stewardesses!

See below;

Just a very quick update on the football results; Liverpool could only manage a 1-1 draw at home, Manchester City won 0-5 & Barcelona scrapped a 1-0 win to keep their title hopes just alive!

Over the weekend the ‘President of the Junta de Andalucia’ - Juanma Moreno, announced that the wearing of ‘Face Masks’ in all public places etc will become mandatory, by law, at the start of the week, with severe penalties for not using them!

At lunchtime we are going along to ‘Bar Castillo’ for a nice cool drink, sat in the shade, to meet up with our friend Brian, for the ‘House Paella ‘ – yesterday evening on our walk, we stopped for a drink ( 1 only!) with Brian & Andy, who were having a ‘ session’ sat outside ‘ Bar Rojas Sol Vida’

Our friend Andy came along and then Brian as well, later Brian's mate Steve, who we have know for many years and his partner Denise joined us, for a nice 'Sunday' lunchtime catch-up, while eating and drinking!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Pan-Seared Medallions of Pork Fillet ‘ – cooked on a very hot griddle-plate, garnished with seared Button Mushrooms and accompanied with a rich/creamy ‘Green Peppercorn’ salsa, served with Garden Peas & Broccoli Florets, with our favourite ‘ Pommes de Terre Rissolee ‘!

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES – IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
