A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 13th/ JULY 2020.   “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 22 “

Just a little lie in this morning after another hot & sticky night, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva. After freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce - open on brown for Brenda – with her favourite sliced/seared Button Mushrooms, tossed in a knob of butter with the Bacon juices, with mugs of hot/strong tea to start the week in the right direction!

A good start to the week as were listening to the ‘ Lockdown Party’ show on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” – the ‘ Mystery Voice ‘ came on, after a little thought I guessed correctly that it was documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux!

The answer to Friday’s was Kate Bush, which with even with a clue I didn’t get!

The sun was out first thing this morning, there is a light breeze so the clouds have cleared and the sky is bright blue, with very warm sunshine, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 29/30 degs+ - overnight down to 21/22 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the coming weekend is staying the same, going just a little cooler as the breeze picks up, with lots of sunshine, a few patchy clouds at times, hovering in the high 20s, the following week is still going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – back into the mid 30s, by next Wednesday 35degs+! Watch this space.

Sabinillas beach this morning!

Yesterday evening we managed to make contact with Sandra & Bill, up in Hope Bay, which is over 150 kms (2 hrs) away , sat outside on the new decking, built by Bill, he’s already taking ‘orders’ for more of them, they were sat under the car-port awning, as it was raining, which they were enjoying, after all the very hot/humid weather back in Everett, Ontario, Sandra was using her Mobile to talk to us on the ‘ Skype’ video link up, they had had a ‘ big’ night on Saturday with friends on the site, as the wine ( Spanish ) flowed! Sandra is still working from home and it looks like she will continue until she retires in October!

Sadly the folks will now not be visiting us this year, as the Canadian restrictions have been extended, as the USA borders have now been closed, so no international travel for them, their flights had been cancelled earlier anyway!

See below the ‘ Chipmunk’ that Bill was feeding with nuts under Sandra’s feet!

This morning the ‘Council’ launched a new urban bus line ( 6 times a day ) from the ‘Viñas de Manilva’ – going down past Manilva Green, Pueblo Mexicano, along all the urbanisations and back to Sabinillas, back up to the village, all for just 0-75 Euros( pensioners!)

See below; The Mayor, Mario is in the blue tee-shirt, on the right and councillors.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Fillets of Sliced Pork’ ( TBC what to do with them) with whole Baby Carrots and triple-cooked ‘ Chips’ The ‘ Menu’s have been agreed for the rest of the week, tomorrow it’s going to be ‘ Omelettes of Choice ‘ with a Baked Potato, on Wednesday we are having our favourite ‘Empanadas of Chicken ‘ – the ‘ Head Chef and his Staff’ have as usual been given the night-off on Thursday, on Friday it will be back to our ‘ Fish Supper’ - as usual on Saturday it will be our ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Sunday we are going order a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the rotisserie in ‘Calle Mar’- as we will be making ‘Ensaladilla Rusa ‘

Still no luck we re- installing our online ‘ IPTV’ system, so far, Andy is still trying various options, later this week,  we only have ‘ITV & Sky News’ at the moment, this evening we will be able to catch the next very gripping episode of the first series of the excellent ‘Broadchurch’

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES – IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE “

“ STILL WEARING OUR MASKS AT ALL TIMES, NOW THE LAW “ ( FROM WEDNESDAY)

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
