A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 10th/ JULY 2020.    “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 19 “

We managed another little lie in this morning after yet another ‘ Sticky’ night sleep, as we were freshening up we were listening to the weekly ‘ Lockdown Party’ show on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW” – as the ‘ Mystery Voice’ quiz came on, yesterday’s answer was ‘Iggy Pop’ – I was wrongly guessing ‘ Gravel Voiced’ Country & Western singers! Today’s is a ‘ Mystery’ as it’s young female pop singer?! Watch this space.

It was then time for a quick toast & tea, I retired upstairs to the office/studio to type/ post today’s Blog, meanwhile Brenda ‘ Masked/Gloved ‘ up and went along to the Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for our prescription, on the way back dropping down to our local shop for the fresh fruit etc.

This morning there was a brilliant ‘Red Sunrise’ over the Mediterranean as you can see below, over in ‘ Colwyn Bay’ in North Wales last night they had a spectacular ‘Red Sunset’ – see below also!

We have another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva, the sky is bright blue and there is just a slight breeze, so no clouds, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 30 degs+ - overnight only down to 21 degs+ - over the weekend going a little cooler as the breeze picks up, next week is now looking very hot & sunny, with a few patchy clouds at times, hovering in the high 20s all week, the following week is going to be the ‘ Hot-One’ – up into the mid/high 30s – with very hot sunshine, watch this space.

Yesterday evening on the ‘ Staffs’ night off, we turned right at the top of our street and had a very nice evening at ‘Bar Rojas Sol Vida’ – the large drinks flowed, our Swedish friends Peter & Rosemary came along and joined us for a quick ‘ Grappa’ as it was their last evening here, they were flying home on a ‘ night-flight’ from Malaga, Brian was taking them across to the airport at 11 -00
pm!

Brenda for a change ordered the ‘ Days Special’ – “ Carpaccio de Terera con Arugula en Parmesan “ ( see below)  – I had the ‘ House Burger’ with everything except Cheese, topped with a ‘Campo’ Fried Egg, with lots of ‘ Frits’! On the house ‘Limoncillo’s came along!!

As we were leaving we spoke to an English couple that were having supper, Richard & Yasmin, with their lovely dog ‘Poppy’ – it was their first visit to sunny Manilva, on recommendation, they have an apartment in Sotogrande and are ‘ House Hunting’ – they are from Harrogate, we had nice chat etc, it was very nice to meet them and we hope to see them again, up her in sunny Manilva.

As I have been typing/posting the Blog, I had a ‘Facebook’ video call from Leah in Gibraltar, we are going to meet her later, at lunchtime, along at ‘Bar Castillo’ for a Tapas’ lunch, with her husband Ryan and their two sons Deemy & Carter and of course little ‘Miss Bella’! What a nice surprise!!

For our supper this evening, for a change we are having “ Pan-Seared Darne of John Dory – St Peters Fish – Pez de San Pedro “!  Lightly dusted in seasoned flour, finished ‘A la Meuniere’ style in foaming Parsley Butter, accompanied with a classic ‘ Hollandaise’ sauce,  served with Garden Peas, Broccoli Florets and Baby New Potatoes in their skins.

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES- IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
