A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 18^th/ JULY 2020.   “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 27 “

We had a nice long lie in this morning after a busy week, by our standards, here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’! After freshening up it was time for Brenda’ perfect ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast (white) – scrambled for herself on toast ( brown) – with mugs of hot/strong tea, to set us up for the ‘Bank Holiday’ weekend ahead.

Yesterday we had a nice surprise as we had a ‘Facebook’ message , in the morning, from Leah over in Gibraltar, asking if we could look after little ‘ Miss Bella ‘- as they were coming over again, to go to the beach down in Sabinillas.

They dropped her off and then later in the afternoon, came back, as it was too hot, as the breeze had dropped, so they asked us to join them, Ryan, her husband and the two boys, Deemy & Carter, back up at ‘ Bar Rojas Sol Vida’ for cool drinks, sat in the shade under the umbrellas, as the three ‘ boys’ also had large plates of the excellent ‘ Frits’ with ‘Mayo’! Ryan flies back to the UK on Monday, from Gibraltar to Manchester, for his work, he’s back again in the middle of August, as usual ‘ Thanks’ to Leah for everything ( spirit cupboard & donation) - as well as her friendship xxxx

We have another glorious day here in a very sunny Manilva, the sky is cloudless & blue, there is a slight breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 28/29 degs+ again – down to 20/21 degs at the night time – staying the same tomorrow, next week is still going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – going a little hotter each day, hovering in the low 30s, at times reaching 35 degs+ - with lots of very warm sunshine, the following week is looking as good, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend, over in the UK, it’s the first semi-final of the ‘FA CUP’ at Wembley, as Arsenal play Manchester City.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Filet Steaks ‘ – seasoned and ‘ flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate  ‘Rare’ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms, accompanied with a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce, served with whole Baby ‘ French’ Green Beans and triple-cooked ‘ Frits’

NB; The ‘Policia Local, the Policia National & the Guardia Civil’ are ‘ taking no prisoners’ – as anyone spotted without their masks, are fined 100 Euros immediately and warned!
