A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 12th/ MARCH 2020.

I was up early again this morning to welcome back little ‘ Miss Bella’ for the day, she shot upstairs as usual and bounded onto our bed, ‘Lolo’ spent all night on his bed sleeping, she’s back next week for three days, the following week she is not, then at the end of the month for another three days!

After freshening up we took them both out for their first walk of the day around the bottom of the village, when we returned I ‘treated’ myself to a ‘ Toasted Campo Fried Egg Butty ‘ – Brenda had brown toast & fresh fruit ( Banana) – with mugs of hot/strong tea to get us on the way for the day ahead!

We have yet another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out first thing and the breeze has dropped, the sky is cloudless & blue, so by lunchtime it’s going to reach 22/23 degs+ - overnight down to 13/14 degs+  -tomorrow and Saturday are staying the same, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ with warm sunshine.

Sadly from Sunday, the next very wet, windy & cold ‘ Atlantic’ front is due to hit us, and stays around all of next week, bringing with it the ‘Wet-Stuff’ – a lot of it, with very high winds ( gale force) by next Wednesday/Thursday, the overall temperatures dropping back down to 15/16 degs, - a very ‘ wet & windy’ week ahead, watch this space.

Yesterday early evening we had a nice surprise ‘Skype’ video call from our very dear friends ‘ Tim & Thea’ up in magical Mojacar, updating us with all their news, as they settle down to life in Spain, their first whole year (hot summer!) down here in sunny Spain -  their new house/apartment purchase has gone through, which they are now going to update/refurbish etc, they in the process of getting all the necessary documents etc, from the various ‘Council’ departments, they also told us all their news about the their family, hopefully we will now be able to meet/link up later in the year, watch this space.

This afternoon we will be watching the third day on the ‘ National Hunt Racing’ from the ‘ Cheltenham Festival’

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry’ with Basmati Rice and triple-cooked ‘Chips’ – Friday is going to be a ‘ Fish Supper’ and on Saturday our usual ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is now going to be ‘Marinated Lamb Cutlets’ – seared on a very hot griddle-plate, then served on a bed of ‘ Boulangere’ potatoes, accompanied with a ‘ Minted Gravy’ and a selection of fresh/local Vegetables!

After supper we will be channel hopping to find a good film to watch.

The Mayor, Mario, has just announced the ' Councils ' very positive and early response to any " Coronavirus' problem locally here in sunny Manilva and in the 'Costa Del Sol ' in the near future, a whole range of closures etc, meeting and sports gatherings cancelled, extra cleaning of all public buildings/places etc, cancelled this weekends ' Carnival ' - as well as improved medical assistance, to all, especially the senior citizens!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
