A GLORIOUS ' FRESH ' AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 7th/ MARCH 2020.

We had a nice long lie in this morning, in fact we overslept, as the village was even quieter than normal, the sound of the gas-bottle delivery man woke us up, after freshening up Brenda took ‘ Lolo’ out for his first walk of the day, he sleeps all night on his bed/rug, when she returned, as she was on the breakfast rota ( always on Saturday!) I had her perfect and famous ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast’ – on brown toast for herself, with mugs of hot/steaming tea to set us up for the day ahead!

We then changed all the outside wall plants, as the breeze had dropped, then Brenda popped along to the local Chemists  in ‘ Calle Mar’ for all of our prescriptions etc.

As I said it’s a beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ and here in sunny Manilva, overnight the wind has  dropped, the sun was out first thing and the sky is cloudless and blue, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 18/19 degs+ - overnight down to 10/11 degs+ - tomorrow is staying the same, with a few patchy clouds, next week, starting on Monday, when it’s going a lot warmer, up to 22 degs+ - and staying dry & settled, with warm sunshine, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ all week and over next weekend, the following week could be a little unsettled as the next wet & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front crashes in, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend; over in the ‘ Premiere League ‘ the early kick-off is Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth, later Everton are travelling down the M1/M6 to play Chelsea, tomorrow it’s the classic ‘ Derby’ game as Manchester Utd welcome Manchester City! Here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona are at home to Real Sociedad and Real Madrid are across in Seville to play Real Betis.

At the ‘ Guinness Six Nations Rugby Union’ this afternoon Ireland welcome to Dublin Italy ( now ‘P’ )  and later England are at home to Wales, tomorrow Scotland welcome France.

Today’s ‘ National Hunt Racing ‘ is from Sandown Park, next week it’s the climax of the season, as from Tuesday it’s the world famous ‘ Cheltenham Festival’ from the home of jump racing.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ – cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare ‘ – pink no blood – the left to rest – garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms and ‘ Banana’ Shallots, accompanied with a classic ‘ Bearnaise ‘ sauce, served with whole Baby ‘French ‘ Green Beans and of course triple-cooked ‘ Frits’ !

We are having a lazy weekend, at home, basically doing nothing, because we can, taking things very easy, relaxing and taking in sunny Manilva over the weekend, later watching the TV and channel hopping, as usual to find something to watch.
