A VERY ' FRESH & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 11th/ MARCH 2020.

I was up early again this morning to see little ‘ Miss Bella’ back with us for the day, she’s also back tomorrow,  ‘ Lolo’ as usual slept all night, before we took them both out for their first walk of the day, sadly ‘ Scruffy’ is now not joining us for a sleep-over as Adrian’s appointment at the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital ‘ has been cancelled due to the ‘ Coronavirus ‘ problems, now down here in Spain!

Yesterday lunchtime when we were sat outside ‘ Bar Castillo’ for a nice cool drink, a Spanish lady ( not local ) with her husband, sat on the other side of the street, started coughing and blowing her nose, it went on for a while and got worse, she made no move to walk away, so as it was so bad Juan, came out and asked her to move on! We were getting a little uncomfortable to say the least, as we are in the ‘ high-risk’ category, along with all ‘Pensioners’ in the village! Watch this space.

It’s yet another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva, the sun broke through first thing and the sky is cloudless & blue, there is just a slight ‘ Fresh’ breeze so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 21 degs+ - overnight down to 13/14 degs, so it’s going to be another warm & sunny day, tomorrow and up to and including Saturday it’s staying the same, then sadly on Sunday, the latest wet, cold & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front is due to hit us! All of next week is now looking a lot colder, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ - down to 13/14 degs by next Wednesday, with lots of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ around, as well as the wind picking up, watch this space.

When we returned from our walk, as I was on the breakfast rota, youv’e guessed all ready, I had a ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce, - open on brown for Brenda with some of her favourite sliced Baby Mushrooms seared in the bacon juices with a knob of butter, some of which it made it onto my butty, with mugs of hot/strong tea to set us up for the day ahead!

I then got this evenings supper on the go; my famous “ Chicken & Mushroom Curry “ ( fruity- med hot)  – first tossing the diced Thigh, Leg & Breast of Chicken in curry flavoured flour before browning it off, at the same time I make the sauce, sweating off the diced Onions & Shallots with Garlic, with a large dash of ‘Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ – before adding the diced ‘ Fuji’ Apple, diced Pineapple and the Baby Mushrooms (both  tinned) along with various Curry Powders ( now 8!) as well as a large spoon of ‘Tomato Fito’ - before adding a rich ‘ Chicken & Vegetable’ stock, as well as various ‘Curry’ pastes (5) & ‘Chutney’ and the juice of a large Lime, not forgetting the Desiccated Coconut, finally adding all the browned-off Chicken, and left to cook-off under the able ‘eye’ of the Second Chef’! The aroma’s are wafting upstairs to the office/studio and also outside up the street, the ‘ Manilva Curry House ‘ is open!

Our dear friends Andy & Brian are joining us for supper, so we are having to start some light ‘Tapas’ – the ‘ Curry’ will be served with Brenda’s famous ‘ Basmati Rice’ – with Garden Peas and sliced Banana, for the dessert either or both, ‘Apple Tort/Chocolate Eclairs’! All served with ‘ Chilled Beers ‘ !!

Meanwhile over in Liverpool yesterday at the Pier Head the “ MS Saga Sapphire “ was berthed for the day, this morning the “ MS Fridtjof Nansen’ arrived, also for the day. See below.

This afternoon we will be watching the ‘ National Hunt Racing ‘ on ‘ Ladies Day’ from the ‘ Cheltenham Festival ‘

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
