A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 10th/ MARCH 2019.

We all had a well deserved nice lie, in this morning, as usual, on a Sunday the village is quieter than normal, ‘Chico’ has settled in very well and spent the night on a rug by the side of our bed, he’s eating everything, he’s found his regular spots when we are out with him, four times a day, he’s such a lovely friendly little ‘Chappie’ and very good company, when we all returned, as I was on the breakfast rota, I made my equally famous ‘ Toasted English Pork Sausage Butties’ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce, with brown toast & fresh fruit for Brenda, with mugs of strong/hot tea, to set us up for the day ahead.

PS; ‘ Chico’ is at my feet as I’m typing/posting today’s Blog.

We have another glorious & beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ starting this morning, the sun was out first thing and the sky was already bright blue by the time we went for our first walk of the day, there is no breeze so it was hot in the sunshine, by lunchtime it will reach 20 degs+ - next week is now looking warm & settled, with a few patchy clouds at times, there is a light breeze, picking up by the coming ‘ Carnival’ weekend, on Monday it’s due to reach 23 degs+ - then it’s hovering in the low 20s, for the rest of the week, overnight down to 11/12 degs, just about right for the time of the year, on the long-range forecast it looks like we are in for more of the same the following week, watch this space.

See below an ‘ Art’ picture of the beach down in Sabinillas this morning!

Just a quick update on the sports results from yesterday; Manchester City won 3-1 and are top of the ‘ Premiere League’ – sadly Everton gave away a 0-2 half-time lead and lost 3-2 to Newcastle, I know two ‘ Brian’s’ that will not be very happy ‘ Blues’ today!

Wales won 11-18 and could win the ‘ Gran Slam’ if the beat Ireland next weekend on ‘ St Patricks Day’ after their 13th successive victory, England won 57 -14 as they battered Italy with eight tries!

For our supper this evening we are having “ Medallions of Pork Fillet “ seared on a very hot griddle-plate, accompanied with a rich & creamy ‘Green Peppercorn Salsa’ – garnished with seared Button Mushrooms, they are cut from the middle of the Pork Fillet, the rest of it will be made into ‘Escalopes of Pork Schnitzels’ for tomorrow evenings supper, I‘m making for a change my famous ‘Breton’ style potatoes, par-boiled & diced new potatoes, tossed in foaming butter with diced Onion & Shallots, with Red, Green & Yellow Peppers, served with Glazed Carrot Batons and finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans.

Earlier this evening we are making contact with Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, in a pre-arranged ‘ Skype’ video call, a little sooner than normal as their clocks have already changed!

After a big sports day yesterday afternoon/evening, we after supper settled down to watch this next two part back to back episodes of the Icelandic thriller( with sub-titles) “ Trapped’ – two more murders, one of a policeman, in the gripping and deep drama, it’s the final two-part episodes next weekend, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
