A NOW CLEAR & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 8th/ MARCH 2019.   “ INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY “

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off across to the Hospital in Estepona to the ‘Physiotherapy Department’ for my last session on my problem left hand, on Monday lunchtime I’m back to see the ‘ Consultant’ for a review/check up, Encarni, thinks I will be back for more treatment ASAP! My hand is half better, with movement in two fingers but still a problem with the other two main fingers, I took a nice box of chocolates for the ladies, as a ‘ thanks’ Watch this space.

On the way back I called into the ‘English Bookshop’ in Sabinillas for the local newspapers etc, but after last week’s problems with the parking & traffic I’m back out on my travels first thing tomorrow morning for weekly shopping at ‘ Mercadona’ –  as we didn’t need any flowers or wall plants this week. Watch this space.

This morning has started a little grey & overcast, there is a very slight breeze so the dark clouds are slow to clear away, there is the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ in the air, in fact as I was walking back up to the house from the underground car park is was spitting a bit! At the moment it’s brightening up as the sun attempts to break through, by this afternoon it’s forecast to reach 16/17 degs+ - down to 8/9 degs overnight, then over the weekend and into the start of next week it’s going to get warmer with lots of sunshine, back into the 23 degs mark, staying the same for the rest of the week and across next ‘Carnival’ weekend, watch this space.

The beach down in Sabinillas later this morning.

This evening for our supper we are keeping things light & simple, Brenda is having ‘ Pan-Seared Fillets of Salmon’ and I’m having ‘ Pan-Seared Fillets of Hake’ – both garnished with local ‘Gambas’-  accompanied with a basic ‘ Hollandaise’ sauce, with Garden Peas & Broccoli Florets & Baby New Potatoes in their skins.

Last night after watching “ Who Wants To Be A Millionaire “ with two 64,000 pound winners this time, we then caught a very gripping ‘ Western’ over on ‘ TVE 1’ from just 2017, “ Hostiles “ starring Christian Bale & Rosamund Pike, it follows a ‘ U S. Army cavalry office ( Bale) who must escort a ‘ Cheyenne’ war chief and his family, from New Mexico,  back to their home in Montana in 1982. On the way he is attacked by ‘ Comanche’s’ who have just killed a settler and his three children, the wife hides & escaped ( Pike’) and joins the journey. He then has to also escort a soldier/killer to be hanged at the next Fort, who attacks and kill’s a another soldier, just after the party has been attacked by three fur-traders, who kidnap some of the women in the party, they are found then slaughtered and the women rescued, all the time during the attacks various soldiers are killed, as they reach the tribal lands in Montana, where the ‘Chief’ succumbs to his illness, a man and his three sons rides up, tells them that it’s his land and to leave, with the body, a brutal gun battle ensues, leaving only three survivors, watch it to find out who!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
