A FRESH & COOLER SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 18th/ MARCH 2019.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off across to the ‘Estepona Hospital’ for my first, of four, appointments, this week, at the ‘ Physiotherapy Department ‘ I had a little problem parking, but then was still able to have a tostado & tea in ‘ Tikitapi’ before going across to the Hospital, my Physio, Irene, a trainee, had finished her training last Friday, so she has been moved to a large Hospital in Malaga, the Head Physiotherapist, Encarni, then looked after me, a hot wax bath on my left hand, then a deep massage and stretching exercises with various stressed pegs!

On the way back at called into the main ‘ Medical Centre’ in Sabinillas to arrange an appointment for Brenda, with our Doctor, Natalia, for a review/check up (next Tuesday afternoon) – at the same time  I was fitted in with the ‘Surgery Nurse’ at lunchtime today, for my monthly ‘V12’ injection, I then stopped at our ‘Bank’ and the Assistant Manager, who looks after our accounts, had my Debit Card re-set by the Head Office in Madrid, with the same ‘Pin’ – “ RESULTS ALL ROUND “ !

Tomorrow evening we have our regular appointments with the ‘Council Chiropodist ’ Carmen,  down at the local surgery, then on Friday morning I will be back down in Sabinillas on my travels for the weekly shopping. This week we have no dogs with us in Doggy World Heaven’ – next Monday ‘ scruffy’ is back with us for the day, In the lunchtime post my new Spanish ‘ Driving Licence’ arrived as promised. Watch this space.

As I set off this morning the sun was already above the Mediterranean, the sky was clearing and by the time I came back along the coast road in was blue, there was a stiff ‘ Lavente’ breeze blowing off the sea by lunchtime it’s due to reach 17 degs+ - 10 degs down on yesterday! The wet-stuff’ at the moment has now gone away, but it’s still going to be colder, hovering in the mid ‘teens’ with patchy clouds, for most of the week, then the new ‘ Atlantic’ front is taking hold over the coming  weekend, with very strong winds, keeping it cooler and with  lots of ‘ RAIN’ – next week is not looking very good, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results from yesterday; Liverpool won 1-2 and Everton won at home 2-0 beating Chelsea, Barcelona won 1-4 at Real Betis, with Messi scoring another classic hat-trick!

The Menu’s for the week have been agreed; this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Irish Stew ‘ – which was very tasty, the Lamb was succulent and the classic recipe was spot on! On Tuesday we are having ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ with all the trimmings, then on Wednesday  it’s another old traditional dish, a ‘ Mixed Grill’ with at the moment English Lamb Chops & Pork Sausages and Smoked Back Bacon, Button Mushrooms, Chorizo, Plum Tomatoes, ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs and ‘Heinz Baked Beans ‘ – with sautéed Potatoes and anything else that I can find! On Thursday its ‘ Find something in the fridge day’ – Friday will be a ‘Fish n ‘Chip Supper ‘ and Saturday ‘ Steak Night’ as usual, Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Yesterday evening we lost the ‘ IPTV’ system just before the pen-ultimate episode of “ Baptiste ‘ – so sadly we missed another very exciting and gripping story line, with two more killings( a husband & wife) and right at the end the ‘Bulgarian Assassin’ – splattered on the pavement, after ‘ falling ‘ from a great height! – as well as a possible ‘ Bent Copper’ being uncovered, watch this space.

PS, Hopefully the system is being worked on at the moment!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
