A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 7th/ JANUARY 2018.

We had a little lie in this morning, ‘ Charlie’ spent the night on the rug by my side of the bed, then as usual when he’s ready to go out he jumps on the bed to let us know, after slowly freshening up Brenda took him out for his first walk of the day as I’m feeling a little under the weather with the ‘ Moffatt’s from Mojacar’ dreaded “ Lurgy “! We then had our regular fresh fruit, toast & tea, when they returned.

We then set off down to ‘Sabinillas’ –  ‘ Charlie’ loves going in the car, he thought he was going down to the beach for a dip! Sadly we can’t  take the chance to let him off his lead!! First I called into the main ‘ Medical Centre’ to make an appointment for my monthly ‘B12 ‘ injection, which was closed, we had forgot that’s it’s a ‘ Bank Holiday’ here in Spain, then we called into the local ‘ Vets’ – which was only handling emergencies, but the lady on duty, who knew ‘ Charlie’ gave us his extra tablets, finally we popped along to the ‘ English Bookshop’ – who normally only closes on ‘English Bank Holidays’ – but sadly was also closed, we were going to make a formal complaint about the ‘ Christmas Cards ‘ ( 5 ) that have still not arrived in Australia and Canada, like last year, we posted them on the 30th November, via the normal system, with a currier delivery to the ‘ Royal Mail ‘ in the UK, all the other cards arrived on time! We are very upset and sorry to all the family. Watch this space.

This morning the sun was out early and the sky had cleared and was bright blue as we set off, there was no breeze, so it’s a beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – by lunchtime it’s due to reach 17/18 degs+ - especially on the sunny side of the street, overnight the temperatures are still dropping into single figures – 8/9 degs, very cool for the time of the year, over the next few days we are staying the same, but over the weekend as the breeze gets up it’s going a little cooler, with the chance of the ‘ wet-stuff’ returning! Next week is looking dry & settled with patchy clouds and the sun still about, hovering in the high ‘teens’ watch this space.

See below two pictures taken over the weekend showing the new ‘ Calle Mar’ at it’s best, during the day & night.

Just a quick update on all the football results from over the weekend; Everton won 2-1, Manchester City won 7-0, Liverpool play this evening, over in ‘La Liga’ – Real Madrid lost at home 0-2 & Barcelona won 1-2 and go 5 points clear at the top!

At lunchtime on our walk with ' Charlie' we ended up back at ' Bar Rojas' - sat outside in the very hot sunshine for a nice cool drink, sat next to us were three people visiting the village for the first time, Ian, Patrick & Angela ?! We gave then our ' local' knowledge about all the Bars and what happens up here in sunny Manilva, nice to meet you and we hope to see you again.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the classic ‘ Lancashire Hotpot’ – topped up with some small ‘Spanish’ Lamb Cutlets & Grilled ‘English’ Pork Sausages, then a fresh topping of hand-cut  sliced Potatoes, to crisp up in the hot oven! The ‘ Menu’s’ for the week ahead are still to be agreed and confirmed, watch this space.

We are taking things very easy this week, relaxing and re-charging the batteries, catching up with the chores, after taking down the ‘ Xmas’ decorations, settling  back into our routine, enjoying the village at this time of the year, ‘Charlie’ is with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ until sometime on Saturday, then the following week we will be out & about on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ for a little retail shopping, a visit to my ‘Barbers’ in Estepona, and then to renegotiate the contract on the house! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
